Admit it, you hate morning sex.
It’s smelly and gross, really inconvenient, and you’d much rather be making your morning smoothie.
Men, however, prefer morning sex because their testosterone levels are highest in the morning, having built up and replenished overnight.
Over the course of the day those levels dip according to The Telegraph UK, and men are much less enthusiastic about sex by bedtime. Then when they go to sleep, their body repairs itself and by the next morning, they’re raring to go again.
Spicing up your sex life isn’t all that hard on Love Life.
But science says it’s OK to rebuff your partner’s advances – women don’t have the same biological make-up, so you’re much less likely to be up for it in the mornings.
There are other factors at play too. Women often have a tighter morning routine: we’ve got to put together an outfit, do our hair, and go through a painstakingly long process to apply make up so we look like we’re not wearing any.
Luckily, a team of researchers have come up with a legitimate science-y reason for having sex at night, rather than in the morning.
The Oregon State University researchers found that couples who have sex the night before going to work out-perform those who don’t. Specifically, they were happier to perform tasks than their colleagues who weren’t getting any.
