The unhinged reality TV moment that has the whole world talking.

Look, we've all had our dramatic moments. Maybe you've ugly-cried to an ad on TV about laundry detergent.

Perhaps you've overreacted to something at work and ended up sending an unfortunate email (just me?).

Or maybe you just have a lot of main character moments.

But nothing — and I mean nothing — compares to what just happened on Spanish reality TV.

MAFS is shaking.

Picture this: reality TV contestant José Carlos Montoya is made to watch a live feed (because reality TV producers are nothing if not deliciously cruel) of his girlfriend Anita Williams cheating on him.

Yep, that's exactly what happened on the Spanish reality show La Isla de las Tentaciones (aka Temptation Island: Spain).

What happens next? Cinema, that's what.

No words do it justice tbh. Just strap in for a wild ride and watch it unfold below. Oh boy, does it escalate!

After dropping to his knees, this man literally sprints across a beach in the middle of the night, screaming and sobbing, while lightning — yes, ACTUAL LIGHTNING — flashes in the background.

And the Oscar (should) go to…

Meanwhile, the poor host Sandra Barneda is chasing after him yelling "Montoya, por favor!" (aka "Montoya, please!") in a so-bonkers-it-can't-be-real moment.

I mean, haven't we all had that one friend who often has their own "por favor" main character moment and has to be brought back down to earth?

And in a new twist, Montoya was cheated on again. In response to the betrayal, Montoya sought comfort with contestant Gabriella, who performed a pool-side dance, leaving Anita visibly distressed.

In an act of revenge, drama escalated when Anita and Manuel engaged in (yet another) sexual encounter.

During one particularly hilarious moment, Anita asked Manuel, "Do you love me?" to which he responded, "A little bit." She then promised to take his "rocket... straight to the moon".

Due to previously breaking villa rules, Montoya was prohibited from viewing these scenes directly. His friends watched in his place and described the behavior as "disgusting".

The best part of this whole saga, you don't even need to understand a word of Spanish to feel this in your soul. "Montoya, por favor!" has become the new universal cry of dramatic despair that transcends language barriers.

It really sums up the state of the world right now.

Trump won…

Kanye West is tweeting vile rubbish again…

The rights of women and minorities are being stripped…

MONTOYA, POR FAVOR!!!

The internet, predictably, has lost its collective mind. One clip of the scene has racked up a casual 221 million views on X (formerly Twitter), which is roughly the equivalent of every Australian watching it eight times.

I mean… this is as viral as viral gets.

Over on TikTok, Montoya is being celebrated for being the dramatic diva we never knew we needed.

The phrase "Montoya, por favor!" has since become a meme, with sports teams, Netflix, and other brands adapting the iconic catchcry.

However, the whole situation has layers to it. Soon, fans discovered that earlier in the show, Montoya himself had engaged in questionable behaviour, receiving a lap dance and kiss from another female contestant named Gabriela.

You hear that?? This was all an act of revenge! The scandal! The intrigue!

The aftermath of Anita's revenge, however, was equally dramatic. Anita initially called Montoya a "scoundrel", before having a change of heart and running to embrace him, begging for forgiveness.

And despite all the betrayal between the couple, reports suggest that Anita and Montoya have continued their relationship after the show.

If Montoya and Anita can get through this, we can get through anything.

Until then, where/where can we watch this show on Australian TV? I need Montoya, por favor and I need Montoya, por favor now.
