UPDATE:
Angelic ‘Anji’ Dean, the 17-year-old cheerleader who left a chilling note in her journal before disappearing, has been found alive at a nearby mall.
More than two weeks after she went missing from her Washington home, the teen was found at the Clackamas Town Center outside Portland, Oregon on Wednesday, according to authorities.
Police said they received over 150 phone tips before locating Anji and reuniting her with family.
Sargent Kevin Allais said in a press release the investigation was ongoing.
“This is an active investigation that includes the crime of human trafficking,” he said in a press release.
Anji’s mother, Lynda Jorgensen said that she was “very thankful” to have her daughter back safely, according to The Columbian.
Previously Mamamia wrote:
“If you’re reading this I’m either missing or dead,” Angelic Tracy Dean wrote in her journal.
Sometime after that, between 9:00 and 10:30pm on June 23, the 17-year-old, best known as ‘Anji’, left her Washington family home.
When her mother came down to say goodnight at 10:40 that night, Anji was gone. She hasn’t been seen since — and fears for her wellbeing have now been exacerbated by her mother Lynda Jorgenson’s discovery of the chilling journal entry.
“We have no idea where she is or who she’s with,” Anji’s mother told KGW. “She can’t be doing this on her own, so we’re really, really afraid for her.”
Jorgenson believes her daughter may be a victim of sex trafficking — and the National Women’s Coalition against Violence and Exploitation’s president, who’s working with the family and detectives on the disturbing case, shares that concern.
