I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but there’s some stuff Miranda Kerr wants you to know.
She’s single. She’s dating. And she’s very, very sexy.
Every time I’ve launched a browser this week I’ve been welcomed by a naked Miranda, all hand-bra and come-hither eyes.
And she’s got a lot to say. About sex. And how much she likes it.
She likes girls, but she likes boys more:
“I appreciate both men and women. I love the female body and truly appreciate the female form.”
“I definitely need a man in the bedroom, however — a nice strong chest to lie on. Still, I want to explore. Never say never.”
She’s definitely up for feedback:
“I always ask for a critique on my performance. I always want to better myself in every way. The older I get, the more confident I am about asking for things I enjoy.”
She’s a member of the mile-high club:
“Let’s put it this way, I’ve had an orgasm in the air before. Alone. And together.”
But she’s not easy, people:
“Orlando and I always had great chemistry. One-night stands aren’t my thing. I made Orlando wait for six months until I even kissed him.”
Okay. I think I get it. Miranda Kerr is really, really sexy.
There are many reasons why Miranda’s interview has caught people’s attention. Like, sex. But not everyone is applauding her new-found liberation from having to sleep with a ridiculously handsome movie star every night.
The funny and fresh Jane Hall, for example, who earned a few column inches this week by suggesting it was embarrassing for Miranda to be banging (sorry) on about sex so much when she’s the mother of a child.
“Sorry Miranda, you’ve repulsed me,’ said Jane on her Mix 101.1 Melbourne breakfast show yesterday. “Shut up, you’re only a young girl, shut up. And you’re someone’s mother.”
It’s hard not to agree with Jane that Miranda has deliberately tottered far into TMI territory (not to mention TTH – Trying Too Hard). But is this statement really any more irritating because it was said by a mother?
“One thing I’ve noticed is now that I’m having less sex my body isn’t as toned. The more sex I have, the more defined my arms and stomach get.”
I don’t think so. That quote would be annoying if it was uttered by a baby seal.
The thing is, it's Miranda Kerr's business to be sexy. And it's in her interests to make sure that no-one puts her in the dreaded 'mumsy' basket, so that she can keep selling us underwear and cosmetics that make us feel, even fleetingly, as sexy as she.
But please, won't somebody think of the children?
