A handy map of every awkward ex encounter at this year's Met Gala.

It was the case of the ex at this year's Met Gala as celebrities were weaving around and ducking their ex-partners like they were playing a rather overdressed game of dodgeball.

Miley Cyrus once tweeted about her then-ex-boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, that she wanted to "see the new Hunger Games but that means I'll have to look at my ex for two f**king hours."

And for these celebs (including Cyrus, the girl can't catch a break), they had to weigh up going to the Met Gala with having to endure being in the same vicinity as their ex.

For the 'Wrecking Ball' singer, her ex-husband Hemsworth might have skipped the event, but she had another ex-partner to avoid: Patrick Schwarzenegger.

Ten years after their breakup, Miley and Patrick crossed paths at the gala. They didn't speak, but Patrick was seen looking Miley's way as she posed for photos which is, umm… oddly sweet.

For any person who lives in the delusion that their ex is still obsessed with them, hang this on your manifestation board.

Ciara and Future were forced to brush shoulders, years after they broke off their engagement. Since then, the pair have struggled through ongoing legal disputes over the custody of their son.

Despite both being present at the event, Ciara and Future made a point to avoid each other throughout the evening. They were not photographed together, and were seen mingling in separate circles. Ciara spent most of her time with her husband, Russell Wilson, while Future was spotted with his own group.

Next up, we have Rosalía and Jeremy Allen White, who both walked the Met Gala red carpet after a reported brief romance in late-2023/early-2024 and a mutual breakup. Oh no, chef!

Rumour has it White quickly rebounded from his fling with Rosalía with his The Bear co-star, Molly Gordon. Rosalía also had to contend with dodging a different ex simultaneously: Hunter Schafer. A lot was happening!

Then there was Kendall Jenner and Bad Bunny, two exes who only ended their relationship in September 2024. The exes weren't photographed together, which is a far cry from 2023 when they were seen heading to a Met Gala afterparty together.

While it's been reported that Kendall and Bad Bunny are on good terms, rumours that Kendall is back with another ex, Devin Booker, wouldn't be helping matters.

It was a hazardous night for Kendall, who also had to dodge her other former partners at the gala, including rumoured exes Nick Jonas and A$AP Rocky.

But perhaps the most awkward exes of the night were Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan. Now this split is fresh, as the former couple reportedly called it quits around December 2024 off the back of rumours that Barry had cheated.

To the mounting criticism, Barry wrote on social media, "I can only sit and take so much. My name has been dragged across the internet in ways I usually don't respond to."

It was quite the mess and clearly, there is no water under that bridge yet, because Barry and Sabrina didn't go near each other all night. But do you know who did? Sabrina's longtime bestie, Joey King, who was seen directing some looks his way during an interaction with Lorde.

So who else was avoiding their exes? Plenty!

Nicole Scherzinger and Lewis Hamilton, who had an on-again, off-again relationship for years, were both in awkward attendance.

Then there was Priyanka Chopra and Shah Rukh Khan, two Bollywood stars who have long been rumoured to have had a past romance before Chopra married Nick Jonas.

Do we reckon Shah still gets jealous??

But wait, there was also a whole other category of awkward with people dodging their current partner's ex at the Met Gala, like Justin Bieber's wife Hailey Bieber and his ex Sofia Richie, or Robert Pattinson's wife Suki Waterhouse and his ex FKA Twigs.

With celebrities known for dating each other, each other's exes and each other's exes' exes, there will no doubt be many more awkward encounters to come.

And guess what? That's just showbiz, baby.
