Stephen Belafonte has allegedly subjected his estranged wife Mel B (Melanie Brown) to a decade of physical and emotional abuse, but may walk out of their marriage with more than $8 million and an island.
The former Spice Girl has reportedly told her lawyers to offer Belafonte $8.27 million (£5 million) and their private island in their divorce settlement in an attempt to settle media coverage of their very public marriage breakdown, according to Daily Star.
A source told the UK newspaper the 41-year-old, who is worth a reported $75 million, has offered him the generous dollar amount as well as their holiday home on a lake in Virginia if he agrees to the gag order that would come with the settlement – preventing him from sharing any more details of their private life.

“Mel wants it done and dusted as quickly as possible to prevent any more harm being done to her kids,” the source told the UK newspaper.
“He wanted double that but he’ll take what’s being offered, because if he gets into a fight with her then her pockets are much deeper than his.”
These reports come after it was claimed Belafonte planned to bring the nanny he allegedly had an affair with to court to be a witness against his wife, the Mirror reports.
The pop icon bought their retreat on a Virginia lake for about $1.65million (£1 million) as a birthday present to Belafonte in 2014.
