Meghan Markle's new era screams 'tradwife'. The truth is very different.

At first glance, Meghan Markle's latest rebrand might look like she's in her "tradwife" era. (Think Ballerina Farm vibes — embracing traditional gender roles, the whole shebang).

But despite the Martha Stewart-esque energy of her new lifestyle brand, As Ever, and her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, she's actually diving headfirst back into the entrepreneurial world. And apparently, Prince Harry is loving it.

In a new interview with People, Meghan shared that her return to work has sparked something between them — so much so that the couple has found themselves in a "honeymoon period" all over again.

"My husband met me when I had The Tig, and I see this spark in his eye when he sees me doing the thing that I was doing when he first met me," she said.

"It's almost like a honeymoon period again," she added, "because it's exactly how it was in the beginning when he'd watch me scribbling away, writing newsletters, fine-tuning edits and just really being in the details of it.

"I think he loves watching as much as I love doing that creative process. It's just been fun. This is who I've always been."

It's a full-circle moment for Meghan, who shut down her lifestyle blog, The Tig, when she and Harry got engaged in 2017.

Meghan launched the blog, where she shared her love of food, travel, and wellness, while starring in the hit legal drama Suits. But as her relationship with Prince Harry blossomed, it took a back seat.

By 2017, she was stepping into a new royal role, one that came with strict expectations (and, reportedly, a whole lot of restrictions).

"I loved The Tig, but I certainly love my husband more. So that was a choice I made at the time, and I wouldn't change that for a second," she told People.

Now, years after stepping back from royal life, she's reclaiming that part of herself — this time, on her own terms.

"As a woman, a mum and a wife, to be able to find yourself again — in a way that was always present but that you maybe couldn't put as much attention on as you now can when your kids are a little bit older — is a wonderful feeling," she told People.

She addressed the "tradwife" title head-on, saying she doesn't consider herself one. Instead, she focused on a "hybrid" lifestyle, noting she even tries to plate her Chinese take-away beautifully. (That one made us laugh. Come on, Megs.)

And Meghan isn't just dipping her toe back into the business world, she's diving in headfirst. As Ever is set to be a full-fledged lifestyle empire, with everything from homewares to food products (she's already trademarked jams, jellies, and tableware).

Then there's her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, which will follow her as she explores her passion for cooking and entertaining.

The show, which she describes as a "love letter to California", was pushed back from a January release to March following the devastating LA fires.

Sharing the trailer, Meghan wrote: "I have been so excited to share this with you! I hope you love the show as much as I loved making it."

The teaser alone featured The Office star Mindy Kaling, her longtime makeup artist Daniel Martin, and even her former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer.

In the short clip, the mother-of-two gushed about her love of cooking, hosting, and friendship.

"I've always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it," Meghan said in the trailer.

"Surprising people with moments that let them know I was really thinking of them."

She continued: "I'm going to share some little tips and tricks and how you can incorporate these practices every day.

"We're not in the pursuit of perfection, we're in the pursuit of joy."

Following the fires, Meghan said: "I'm thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California."

As for her lifestyle brand? Meghan quietly announced it as American Riviera Orchard back in March 2024. But last month, she revealed a full rebrand.

Goodbye American Riviera Orchard, and hello As Ever.

In a video explaining the switch, Meghan shared her reasoning.

"Last year, I had thought, 'American Riviera, that sounds like such a great name.' It's my neighbourhood; it's a nickname for Santa Barbara, but it limited me to things that were just manufactured and grown in this area," she said.

The Duchess broke down her new name. "I'm thrilled to introduce you to As Ever — a brand that I created and have poured my heart into. 'As ever' means 'as it's always been' or some even say 'in the same way as always'," she captioned the post.

The business will focus on Meghan's passions for "food, gardening, entertaining, thoughtful living, and finding joy in the everyday."

But according to Meghan, this latest career move isn't about reinvention, it's about returning to who she always was.

"The things that I'm creating are so much a reflection of my life and the things that I love," she told People.

And for Harry? He's here for it.

"He's such a supporter of me and vice versa," Meghan said. "We're really happy."

Meanwhile, the couple continue their work with the Archewell Foundation as Harry focuses on his philanthropic efforts.

"We've been such a close team for so long that we're just in it beat by beat with each other," Meghan said. "And I love that. To be able to be a female founder and do that with my husband's support means everything."

Because if Meghan's latest era proves anything, it's this: she might be leaning into the homemaker aesthetic, but she's making sure the empire she's building is entirely her own.
