When Kensington Palace announced Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s baby news in October, they specified Autumn in Australia as the baby’s due date.

And well, here we are.

Meghan recently begun her maternity leave and since she’s never shared her exact due date (although she did hint…), the newest royal could be born at any moment.

And that leads us to the biggest question: What will the Duke and Duchess of Sussex name baby Sussex?

The royal couple have been very secretive on this, but according to Prince Charles, there are a few Australian ideas in the mix…

“Incidentally, ladies and gentlemen, my son Harry tells me that during their recent tour of Australia, he and his wife were offered countless thoughtful suggestions for the naming of their forthcoming baby,” Charles said. “Just between us, I suspect that Kylie and Shane may possibly make the shortlist.”

He’s joking. We hope.

Booking agencies claim to know the future baby's name - but they haven't always got it right.

When the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge named their third child Louis, a few people made a healthy profit as the name was considered a long shot among bookies at 33/1. British online gambling site had Arthur as the most-likely name.

Princess Charlotte was the top pick for their middle child, although Alice was a close second bet.

Prince George was predicted to be called George, James or Alexander (Or Alexandra, for a girl).

Unlike the Cambridge children, baby Sussex will never be king or queen - so Meghan and Harry have a bit more 'freedom' when it comes to baby names, but don't expect them to go too wild.

Meghan has also said they planned to keep the gender a secret until birth.

With all that in mind, here's the predictions for Meghan and Harry's upcoming baby.

If it's a girl.

Australia's Sportsbet are predicting a baby girl and expect the baby to take the name of Prince Harry's late mother Princess Diana.

Second picks are Grace and Alice, the name of Prince Philip's mother. This was also a top pick when Kate Middleton was pregnant with Princess Charlotte, and many people believe an Alice will be part of the royal family at some stage.

Ladbrokes also think Diana is the most likely, followed by Victoria.

This is the same pattern followed by almost all of Britain's betting agencies, who rank Alice third with Elizabeth, after the baby's great-grandmother the Queen, as an outside chance.

Interestingly, after actress Olivia Coleman won the best actress Oscar for her portrayal of Queen Anne in The Favourite, the name Olivia became a popular pick.

Even if the new parents choose to name their child something other than Diana, pretty much everyone is assuming it will at least be the baby's middle name.

If it's a boy.

Sportsbet have named Arthur - the favourite before Prince Louis' birth - followed by Edward, as the top picks for a baby boy whereas Ladbrokes consider Albert, the name of the Queen Elizabeth's father, the most likely boys name.

UK agencies also have Arthur as the top pick, followed by James, Henry and Spencer (This is of course Princess Diana's maiden name, so no matter the gender, a tribute to Diana is considered very likely).

There are also some far less 'traditionally royal' names the public can bet on, including Tyrone, Boris and Donald... Please, no.

We cannot say for sure what Meghan and Harry will name their baby, but all signs point to a tribute to Princess Diana. Thankfully we won't have to wait much longer.
