Megan Gale: “You realise how responsible you are for the life inside of you, and to have that threatened is terrifying.”

Expectant baby mama Megan Gale has opened up about being in a bad car accident last week – and how she feared for her baby.

Speaking to Who magazine, the 38-year-old model, who is currently five months pregnant with her first child, told how she went straight to hospital after a car smashed into the back of hers in Melbourne. “It was a horrible experience, and the first time I really felt scared and protective of the baby,” she said.

“I was so rattled. You realise how responsible you are for the life inside of you, and to have that threatened is terrifying.”

Megan was joined at the hospital by her boyfriend, 25-year-old AFL player Shaun Hampson, who she says is so ready for fatherhood. “Shaun saw himself as being a young dad, rather than waiting in his 30s.”

We’re glad to hear that mum and bub are OK. And can’t wait to meet the bubba, who will be seriously genetically blessed.

Wait. Jonah Hill was paid how much for his role in The Wolf of Wall Street?

No. Way. Actor Jonah Hill agreed to be paid just $67,000 for his Oscar-nominated role in The Wolf of Wall Street. Might sound like a lot, but for a well-established actor in a blockbuster Hollywood film, it’s practically pocket money.

Hill actually told US shock jock Howard Stern that he was happy to take the salary for the chance to work with his dream director, Martin Scorsese. He said, “I would sell my house and give him all my money to work for (Scorsese)… I would have done anything in the world. I would do it again in a second.”

To his credit, he seemed to be pretty happy with the arrangement. “It’s not about money for me. None of this s*** is about money. I want to make money to pay my rent, and hopefully have a family one day and have kids and stuff.”

He snuck in a quick boast about working with the man everyone calls Marty: “I got to f*cking be in a Martin Scorsese movie and I just got nominated for an Oscar.”

That’s all well and good. But we want to know, why did they only offer him the SAG minimum wage?

With a SAG Award and a Critics Choice Award under her belt, everyone is talking about Lupita Nyong’o and her Oscar-nominated role in 12 Years a Slave. And she’s been absolutely sublime on the red carpet. Flawless, even.

Here are a few things you might not know about our new style crush, Lupita:

1. She was born in Mexico, raised in Kenya, but returned to Mexico aged 16 to learn Spanish.

7. She often uses the word “ohtheklified”, a term her dad invented to describe an overwhelming sense of wonder.

That’s right. Roy Slaven and H.G. Nelson will be travelling to the Winter Olympics to provide us with intensive coverage of all of the funny stuff that goes on at a Winter Olympics. The pair will be doing a daily show for Triple J titled Roy & H.G.’s Russian Revolution, and will also be producing digital content for Channel Ten’s digital platform, TenPlay.

Our feelings are a bit mixed in the office. While we’re universally Roy & H.G. fans, there is a lingering feeling (supported by, you know, TV ratings) that the pair’s Olympic broadcasts peaked with The Dream at Sydney 2000 and haven’t really attained that standard since.
