A GoFundMe account has been set up to raise money for the pregnant wife and future child of heatstroke victim Matthew Hall who tragically died of heatstroke on the weekend in Queensland.
The page, named ‘To Baby Hall’, explains in its description: “On Saturday 13th January 2017 we unexpectedly and tragically lost a Husband, Son, Friend, and Father to be just 3 weeks before his wife was due with their first child.”
“With the sudden loss of Matt and the impending arrival of their first born there has been an [outpouring] of people who would like to assist with Emily and their son.
“We have come up with this page to assist Emily with the start up of her family.”
The page endeavoured to raise $5000 for the wife and future child of the late Virgin Australia pilot, but the target has well and truly been exceeded.
Within 11 hours of its creation, more than $35,000 had been donated. And this figure continues to skyrocket.
The 30-year-old father-to-be was quad-biking in Beerburrum State Forrest, Sunshine Coast, when he collapsed with heatstroke. Hall’s temperature was 42 degrees when paramedics arrived on the scene.
Hall’s organs began shutting down while the rescue helicopter landed. He died shortly after.
