'I've never had as many compliments as when I wore this matching set.'

I'm a creature of habit with pretty much everything in my life.

I have used the same shampoo my entire adult life. I have ordered the same noodle dish at my local Thai restaurant every single time. So, when I found an outfit formula that worked for me, I stuck with it. Hard.

And that formula is just… wearing matching sets.

Coords have had a huge resurgence in the last 12 months and are the perfect option for when you're too lazy or too tired (me and me) to pull together a cohesive outfit, but still want to look polished.

Co-ord sets feel chic.

They feel put together without me having to actually… style them.

And they also double the number of outfit combinations in your collection if you mix and match them (which I don't, but so I've heard).

But I have never had as many compliments on a matching set as I did when I branched out slightly.

Instead of going for a shirt and shorts combo, which I have by the truckload, I opted for…. I'll wait for hushed anticipation… a shirt and a wrap skirt.

I know. Groundbreaking. Avante garde. High fashion. Who is she?

While I wasn't sure a wrap skirt was my thing, I was assured by our fashion editor extraordinaire, Tamara Holland, that they are very much on trend again.

And lemme tell you, I have never had so much attention from one outfit.

It's the JAG Lobster Shirt, $150, and JAG Embroidered Lobster Mini Skirt, $150 (but I snagged them during a sale). This brand has had a major glow-up and now I am eyeing off everything in their collection… and may have already bought another matching set in blue.

Sue me.

The top and skirt are made from 100 per cent linen, but it's super thick, making it much less prone to crushing. It's not see-through at all, but still gives that bohemian holiday vibe, and the wrap skirt feels comfy and chic.

But I think we can all agree, the lobster motifs are the star of the show.

The fisherman aesthetic has exploded for summer — that's why you're seeing lobsters, starfish and shells on everything — and this coord fits that brief to a tee.

I also love the asymmetrical finish of the skirt, playing into another one of 2025's biggest trends.

I also found that a skirt instead of shorts makes this set feel more elevated. I didn't run into the territory of looking like I was wearing crushed pyjamas by the end of the night.

So if I've convinced you to get a co-ord set with a wrap skirt, here are a few others I now have my eye on…
