The most intriguing star of MAFS isn't even one of the contestants.

Every season of Married At First Sight promises to bring romance and scandal in equal parts, but it also brings along rogue side-characters who live on in our hearts for years to come.

Who remembers Martha Kalifatidis' wine-loving grandma? What about Jessika Power's brother, who people had a weird crush on? Well, this season's offering is the slightly unhinged — or completely unhinged, in the words of her own sister — bridesmaid from hell: Tamara.

I mean, she wasn't that bad… but Nine certainly amped up the drama when Lauren's sister made her own scandalous MAFS debut in the premiere episode.

The pair were painted as warring sisters, though it's clear from social media that they actually spend a lot of time together in their personal lives, including taking European holidays with Lauren's other bridesmaid, Emma.

But in the episode, Tamara was seen calling the nuptials an "abortion" — we think she meant abomination — and joking about her sister being "so frigid" while she enjoyed her first dance with her new husband, Eliot. She stormed out of the reception when she wasn't given a pescatarian meal, telling producers she was the bride's sister and should've been treated better.

The drama was all too much for some viewers, while others were relishing in the chaos.

"I really hope that was scripted," one MAFS fan wrote on Instagram.

"Tamara understood the MAFS brief. She was made for this show," added another on X (Twitter).

I won't sugar coat it, Tamara came off a little 'bats**t' — which is fitting since that's how her sister described her. But my god, was she good television.

"I'm scared of you," a MAFS producer told Tamara.

"Are you? You should be," she replied, with a perfectly maniacal cackle.

And now, she's spoken out about the episode in order to blame the one thing we've all come to expect: the editing. And you know what, diva, I respect it.

"I know how it looks — I watched the same episode as everyone else, and without context, I totally get it," she said in an Instagram post following the premiere.

"But there's over 18 hours of footage you didn't see. I'll be sharing a tell-all soon, so stay tuned!" she continued.

"Just a little reminder, this is a reality TV show, heavily edited to get the highest ratings, and I earned the villain badge by refusing to conform.

"It's not real life, guys, so don't take it too personally! It's out of my control, so I'm fully embracing it, the good, the bad, and the ugly."

I, for one, will be counting down the seconds until this mysterious tell-all moment she's promising.
