'I choose you!' Inside Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels romance after MAFS.

Despite making waves early on Married at First Sight for already knowing each other before meeting at the altar, Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels have become one of the more low-key couples this season. And as far as reality TV goes… that's the biggest compliment.

The couple made reality TV history this season, becoming the first couple to have dated before being matched on the experiment. And no, Paul ghosting Carina at first sight and marrying her at second sight doesn't count.

Rhi and Jeff weren't just ships passing in the night — they actually dated for over a month in 2023 before finding themselves coincidentally paired by the experts.

This season was fairly smooth sailing for the couple, who have approached their relationship with a slow-but-steady attitude.

And with all the drama of final test week, Rhi and Jeff remained the only couple who did not choose to go on a date with another potential match. And we wouldn't expect anything less from our golden couple.

When it came to final vows, the couple declared they were falling in love with one another.

"Rhi, you're it for me. I choose you and I hope this is forever," said Jeff.

Aside from a weird feud with Jacqui Burfoot, the exes haven't gotten amongst much of the drama.

But the question on the tip of everyone's tongue: did they go the distance after MAFS?

Are Rhi and Jeff still together?

Jeff and Rhi have been dropping some not-so-subtle hints that they're still going strong post-filming.

The pair were caught liking each other's Instagram posts between October and January (after Final Vows, but before handing over their social media accounts).

Jeff wasn't shy about leaving fire and heart-eye emojis on Rhi's selfies (subtle, mate) and Rhi responded with the classic red heart emoji.

Unlike some of their fellow MAFS participants, these two have been spotted together multiple times in public.

Most tellingly, Jeff was seen playing chauffeur, dropping Rhi off at a Valentine's Day event with her fellow MAFS ladies in Melbourne earlier this year.

And, unlike the rest of the cast, Rhi and Jeff are still doing joint interviews in the lead up to the reunion.

It seems this pair will be the only ones to go the distance this season on Married At First Sight.

Why were exes Jeff and Rhi matched on Married at First Sight?

This season's Married At First Sight delivered not one but TWO couples who were matched with their exes: Paul and Carina, and Rhi and Jeff. Wild.

What are the odds? About as likely as finding true love on reality TV, we'd say.

While the match was labelled a 'mistake' and 'accident' in the media, not everyone is convinced this wasn't something dreamed up by MAFS producers. Especially since previous contestants have revealed that participants are required to list their exes during the audition process.

On Yahoo Lifestyle Instagram post, former bride Olivia Frazer rejected claims that this was an accident, writing "considering you have to list your exes in the audition process… 'mistake' is a bit of a stretch."

Another former MAFS star, Nasser Sultan added, "No accident it was always a set up."

My Kitchen Rules alum Colin Fasnidge also expressed suspicion over the move in the comments.

"Could not write it... or could you," he posted, along with a shushing emoji.

If you cast your mind back to Episode 4 of this season's MAFS, former Jeff was awkwardly matched with his ex-girlfriend Rhi.

We all watched the wild moment when the bride walked down the aisle to be greeted by her groom, who said "Hey, Rhi!"

So what happened between these two? Apparently, they met through a mutual friend, who also happens to be Australian Survivor star Abbey Holmes, and started casually dating from there.

They frequented the same gym, and liked each other's Instagram posts, where they still follow each other, suggesting they didn't end things too badly.

In an exclusive interview with 9Entertainment, the pair finally set the record straight on what actually happened between them.

"When I walked down the aisle and Jeff turned around I was like... what the hell, I know him," Rhi explained. "We dated for like a month last year. Luckily, we ended on really good terms, as we'd both come out of long-term relationships."

Jeff added: "My initial reaction was pure shock. It was the last person I expected to see on my wedding day. We dated for about four or five weeks."

"We had a conversation about going our own ways, and it was very grown-up and very mature and very mutual. If it wasn't a mutual separation, it would have been very hard in the experiment!" he explained.
