Mariah Carey has decided to take a break from social media following her controversial New Year’s Eve performance in Times Square, New York.
The 46-year-old singer took to Twitter to share the news, posting an audio clip which she captioned “in my own words.”
Carey began her statement by standing by her initial allegations that the event’s production team sabotaged her performance.
"I haven't really addressed the situation that happened on New Year's Eve and in time I will," Carey is heard saying in the clip. "But for now I want everyone to know that I came to New Year's Eve in New York in great spirits and I was looking forward to a celebratory moment with the world."
