James Charles is the world's first CoverBoy. And we can't stop admiring his makeup.

James Charles is quite possibly the best CoverGirl of all time, despite the fact he’s not a girl at all.

The wildly popular makeup artist and beauty blogger – who boasts an online following exceeding 500,000 people – was named the face of the global makeup empire on Tuesday, and it’s very easy to see why.

While he’s only a teenager, a quick scan of James’ Instagram profile offers an impressive repertoire of creative talent. From horror movie-esque inspired looks to ethereal party creations, the 17-year-old perfectly represents what the brand says CoverGirls are all about.

“[CoverGirls] are role models and boundary-breakers, fearlessly expressing themselves, standing up for what they believe, and redefining what it means to be beautiful,” a press release from the company announcing James’ appointment reads.

Appearing alongside superstar Katy Perry in television and print commercials is an added bonus for the trailblazer, who only created his social media accounts one year ago.

‘The secret’s out,” the teen shared with his followers on Tuesday evening. “So beyond excited to finally announce that I am the new face of #COVERGIRL and the first ever coverBOY.”

“I am so thankful and excited and cannot wait to show you all what we have in store.”

James’ commitment to the company will span 12 months, and see him debut some of the season’s marquee products.

“I started my Instagram to inspire others and as an artistic outlet to challenge myself creatively,” he wrote in a subsequent post.

“I truly hope that this shows that anyone and everyone can wear makeup and can do anything if you work hard. I can’t wait to share with you all what we have in store, but trust me when I say it’s gonna be real good.”
