Well, this is awkward…
All along, millions of singles all over the world have been downloading Tinder in an attempt to find genuine, real connections with their fellow humans.
Turns out, we’ve been doing it wrong.
Apparently, Tinder can actually be a valuable source of income, as 20-year-old Maggie Archer from Missouri, USA, recently discovered.
Maggie’s profile asks men to send her $5 to “see what happens”.
And, yes, surprisingly, it works.
Once she matches with men, she provides them with her PayPal account details so they can send her the money.
Then, what happens? She un-matches with them, and never speaks to them again, of course.
"It's really a foolproof plan, because I'm not actually promising anything, I just say, 'See what happens,'" she told BuzzFeed News of her plan to make millions.
"A surprising amount of men take the bait."
LISTEN: What to say when everyone tells you "I cant believe you're not taken."
Of course, like everything that goes viral online, it started out as one big joke. Soon, Maggie discovered that men were more than willing to take her up on the mysterious promise.
