In the history of Married at First Sight Australia, there aren't many brides as memorable as Jacqui Burfoot.

The iconic 2025 contestant on MAFS became known for her Miss New Zealand title, bullet-pointed lists, passion for business and rocky relationship with her groom, Ryan Donnelly.

Jacqui has been a vocal critic of her portrayal and time spent filming MAFS, but in the words of Rihanna: she found love in a hopeless place. The Kiwi bride met intruder groom Clint Rice and after parting ways with Ryan during their final vows, she started dating the successful businessman.

They've since moved in together to Clint's home in Tasmania and in April, the couple announced their engagement.

In an exclusive chat, Jacqui tells us that her relationship with Clint is going 'great' and the couple will celebrate their one-year anniversary in November.

"We live together in Tasmania, we run our businesses together, we are planning our wedding for next year. We spend 24/7 together," she said.

As for their anticipated nuptials, Jacqui said they are still a work in progress.

"We haven't set a date because we haven't locked in a venue — we are too busy travelling, working and enjoying our engagement. We are keeping the specific details of our big day a surprise," she said.

Jacqui and Clint have some big plans for the future. "I do dream of a big family… but we need to make the money first!" she said.

"I want a successful career: the most exciting thing for me is building a business together. It's always been a dream of mine to build a multi-million dollar company. Clint is very good at business — he has already successfully exited a seven-figure golf business. Together we are aiming higher."

In the long term, the couple want to travel around Europe, start a family and move to a warmer climate.

And Jacqui has already grown her company, Jacqueline Lee Jewellery, along with her other side hustles.

"I am the founder of a fast-growing jewellery basics business. I founded it to help busy women look put together 24/7. We are in the process of going into wholesale," she said.

"We also travel a lot and help promote unique luxury experiences. I still offer cameos and have delivered over 1,000 now!"

In the months since MAFS wrapped, she hasn't remained close to any of her co-stars — obviously, besides her fiancé Clint.

"I have a small trusted circle of friends from law school and university. I don't believe in fake friendships or 'media only friends' (aka clout chasing)," Jacqui told Mamamia.

As for Ryan, the two reality stars remain in a tense dynamic. "I have been granted an interim restraining order against Ryan by the Launceston Magistrates Court," she told us.

"MAFS was only worth it because I met Clint. If I didn't [meet Clint], it would have been a huge financial cost and loss to myself, and mental toll, given my career as a lawyer."

Jacqui has a double degree in law and finance, but has had to distance herself from her former career due to the media attention she garnered from her reality TV stint.

Jacqui said she would only recommend doing MAFS to "people who are happy to be online and exposed to trolls, because even beloved people like Blake Lively and Kate Middleton get trolled," she said.

"I didn't realise the country tends to troll the MAFS cast more than any other show — it's a little toxic and felt like high school bullying from randoms on the internet with no names. It's a bit shameful if I'm honest and embarrassing behaviour from adults."

As for any advice she can offer to the 2026 brides and grooms, Jacqui says the incoming contestants should record "evidence" of their journey.

"Record your own diary cams every day. Record evidence and footage behind the scenes," she said.

Jacqui also advises that contestants break the rules.

"Go rogue before the show goes to air on TikTok for the plot," she said.

"The biggest rule breakers of our season got good edits and those who followed the rules got bad ones. Just look out for yourself… imagine a worst-case scenario and plan for the worst, but hope for the best! Try to have fun with it and find something that makes the trolling worth it… like the gifted clothes or travel."
