There are 7 MAFS storylines we didn't get to see this year.

Look… we all know Married At First Sight has an editing problem. Every season, we expect the usual reality TV sleight of hand — the dramatic music cues, the frankenbiting of conversations, and those suspiciously well-timed reaction shots.

But MAFS 2025? The editing this year has been next level devious, with entire storylines apparently axed.

What's particularly interesting is how these missing pieces may have completely warped our understanding of what was actually going on during filming. We've seen relationships implode without warning, villains emerge without provocation, and couples mysteriously switch dynamics overnight. Make it make sense.

As the finale approaches, more and more cast members have taken to their Instagram Stories (the true home of MAFS tea this year!) to spill on the stories that never made it to air. And it's so much juicier than what we've been served.

Allegedly everything when it comes to Jacqui and Ryan.

Where to begin with these two? Because, apparently, what we saw of their volatile relationship was just the tip of the iceberg.

Jacqui herself has been particularly vocal about the editing, claiming there were large chunks of context cut from her interactions with Ryan in order to make her look overly emotional.

"Showcasing me crying but then cutting up my crying so it looks like I'm fake crying. Like it's just so f***ed on so many levels. It was shocking the level of abuse I suffered, like beyond normal, beyond, okay," she explained on her Instagram.

She also made some pretty shocking allegations about Ryan's behaviour towards her on the show, claiming that he "physically threatened" her, which left her "so scared [she] almost called the police."

"He physically threatened me and intimidated me and I ran out of the room s*** scared," she said in a TikTok video.

Ryan denies these allegations.

But that's not all — apparently, the show completely edited out a moment during the couple's honeymoon where Ryan made a joke about how his "arms" could "cause pregnancies". Ryan claimed that Jacqui then went on to interrogate him about whether he'd gotten women pregnant before and if he had a criminal record. Supposedly, she even brought it up during the next commitment ceremony, all of which we did not see.

"Then, out of nowhere, she linked it to rape culture and sexual consent. She yelled across the room [that] she'll always stand up for women's rights, particularly when it concerns rape," Ryan told Daily Mail about the interaction.

See… this is the context we needed! This little interaction would have made Jacqui's final vows make a lot more sense, when she tells Ryan that his

"biceps will never get her pregnant".

Jamie announced her previous relationship with Teejay at his wedding.

By this point, we all know that Jamie and Teejay had a past entanglement prior to the show. Or maybe we don't, because it was never mentioned on air.

Prior to the airing of the episode of Teejay and Beth's wedding, reports claimed that Jamie had announced her dating history with Teejay in the middle of the event.

"We were all sitting at the main table, enjoying the wedding, and then Jamie just walked over and said, 'I slept with Teejay,'" an insider told The Daily Mail.

"The entire room froze. It was like a grenade had gone off — nobody could believe what they were hearing."

Even Beth and Jamie have both confirmed that the scene did indeed happen. But when the episode aired… nothing. It begs the question, why would producers cut such juicy content from the show? Aren't prior participant connections the bedrock of good reality TV? Very intriguing.

@jshfx

They completely cut out the fact Jamie recognised Teejay at his wedding cause they used to hook up outta tonight’s ep?? Dw tho im always there to get the scoop in real life. Listen to The MAFS Funny podcast for all the latest. #mafs #mafsau #mafsaustralia

Tony's love for his ex-wife.

Another storyline that could have absolutely upped the drama this season but weirdly did not make it to air? Allegedly, Tony was still legally married when he joined the experiment..

In a series of texts exchanged between Morena and previous MAFS participants, Harrison Boon, it was revealed that, not only was Tony already married throughout the experiment, but he also wanted his real-life wife to come onto the show. Bizarre, to say the least.

"I do not care that he's still legally married. That's not the issue," Morena wrote in the text, per Yahoo! Lifestyle.

"The issue is he loves his wife. He wants his wife and he really thought he could come on the show and get his wife in the show. It would make good TV."

Morena even claimed that producers instructed Tony to "stop talking" about it altogether because they didn't want to bring it up on the show.

The almost-altercation at the couple's retreat.

According to Jacqui, this season's rogue correspondent, there was one very heated interaction during the couple's retreat that was nowhere to be seen once the episode aired.

Believe it or not… Lauren and Jamie's argument allegedly almost broke out in a physical fight.

"They cut out the second half of girls' night — the part where a fight erupted... it's WILD," Jacqui said in an Instagram story.

"I actually had to step in. There was a part where a physical… like people started standing up and getting really mad… I had to step in and shut it down."

Big yikes.

Dave and Sierah's dating history.

In more weird pre-show connections, Jamie recently revealed that she and Teejay were not the only ones who had hooked up prior to coming onto the show. In fact, Dave and Sierah also had a history.

"Dave may have been on a date with Sierah six years ago," Jamie said during an interview with Robbie and Carly . "Dave had told me prior to [meeting], because Sierah had been leaked. I was like, 'I don't care if you've had sex with her upon entry, like, I'm cool.' And then Sierah came up to me immediately at the first cocktail party and told me, but it was just so funny because it's like, how small is the MAFS world?"

"Again, this wasn't intentional. They don't ask you for a list of everyone you've been with, so it's just funny how this happens," she added.

Teejay and Ryan's dinner party argument.

After Beth spent a few days with Ryan during the couple swap, there was apparently a big blowup at the next dinner party in which Teejay defended his wife against Ryan. All of which we missed.

"Ryan threw some choice words at my wife and started swearing at her, so I may or may not have politely asked him to stop doing that. It was quite a big thing at the dinner party," Teejay shared with Yahoo Lifestyle.

"I got pretty heated, to be completely honest with you. I just don't like when people come at my wife. He was swearing and that rubbed me the wrong way. The genie in the bottle came out."

Ryan allegedly told Beth to "effing shut up" during the argument, which prompted Teejay to jump in.

"I think Ryan and Beth were going at each other over something, and he told her to 'Effing shut up'. I didn't like that at all," he added. "I can't remember the exact words verbatim, but it was somewhere along those lines. It definitely happened, and it definitely wasn't nice."

The conversation about Cleo and Paul at a dinner party.

It's no secret to any of us that Awhina's sister, Cleo, used to date Paul. We know this, because it was revealed during the couple swap challenge when Awhina was paired up with Paul.

However, what we didn't see was the first time Cleo and Paul's past relationship was revealed to Carina and the group.

Speaking to Daily Mail, Cleo confirmed that a conversation about their relationship did take place between Awhina and Paul earlier on. However, it seems it was cut from the episode.

"At no point was this hidden," Cleo said. "When Paul first met Awhina at the dinner party, they addressed it openly, with Paul telling his wife, Carina."

So, where was the conversation? Where was the DRAMA? I guess we'll never know.
