There is something about a well-cut sandwich that makes it 10 percent more delicious. Even something as simple as cheese and Vegemite can seem exotic when in the shape of a star.
We don’t recommend star-cut sangas as they’re wasteful but there are a few ways you can jazz up a lunch without losing an inch.
The above video demonstrates the technique of ‘pinwheel’ sandwiches. It’s simple. All you need to do is place ingredients into a wrap with some form of adhesive (dip, butter, sauce), roll it and then cut into small cylinders.
The technique is an easy way to entice children to eat something that otherwise may be forgotten in favour of tuck-shop swaps.
Here are some other combinations for you to try:
The Mediterranean: salami, cheese, olive dip.
The Classic: ham, cheese, pickles.
The Brunch Lunch: avocado, hard boiled egg slices.
The City Slicker: avocado, salmon, finely sliced onions, lemon.
The combinations are endless if you're lucky enough to work in an environment where food can be refrigerated.
