As a morning editor, I'm out the door by 4:50am — bleary-eyed, coffee in hand, and very much not in the mood to wriggle into anything tight, itchy, or buttoned. You can trust me when I say there is no earthly way I'm squeezing into my stiffest jeans or a barely-there mini skirt at that hour, no matter how good they look in daylight.
For over a year, I've been on the hunt for the ultimate comfortable work staples. Clothes that move with me — from the early commute, to the glorious moment I collapse on my carpet at the end of it all.
And I know I'm not alone.
We've all silently suffered through rigid denim, pocket-less dresses, or sweaters that turn your desk chair into a sauna.
Too often, workwear looks great, but functions like a straightjacket. Can you bend down to pick something up without fear of splitting a seam? Sit comfortably for eight hours without your waistband declaring war? Didn't think so.
Enter: the holy grail.
A classic work pant? Nope. Activewear. Image: Supplied.
