The new show that's so popular, it crashed Netflix for more than two hours.

Okay, okay, SO. If you’re already a fan of Jessica Jones, you will have been ALL OVER the fact Luke Cage premiered on Netflix on the weekend.

But not long after the new 13-episode series — the latest killer collaboration between Marvel Studios and Netflix — debuted, disaster struck.

Netflix servers went down for more than two hours.

Yep, that’s how powerful superhero Luke Cage is. (In case you’re not up to speed, Cage is an insanely strong superhuman with unbreakable skin who escapes prison to become a hero-for-hire and all around good bloke.)

Listen: The Binge discusses Luke Cage and Laura is OBSESSED. Post continues below.

Luckily for us Aussies, the crash only affected subscribers in the USA and the UK. (I’m putting this down partly to the fact we had some pretty big sport on over the weekend. Correct me if I’m wrong…)

Netflix confirmed the outage but did not confirm the precise cause.

However, the official Twitter accounts for both Luke Cage and Jessica Jones cheekily gave their two cents when the servers were brought to a standstill.

That swear jar would have made a fortune.

Of course, when binge-watchers were ripped away from Luke Cage, they aired their devastation on social media.

And then Luke Cage returned to their screens. All was once again right with the Netflix world.
