Mamamia recaps Love Triangle on Stan: Is this the first cheating scandal of the season?

Grab your popcorn and emotional support blanket, folks, because this week's Love Triangle on episode is serving up exactly what we signed up for: chaotic energy, questionable decision-making, and the kind of second-hand embarrassment that makes you simultaneously cringe and keep watching.

The Triangle Party has arrived, and with it comes the drama we've all been waiting for. Tears? Check. Betrayal? Check. You know it. The classic reality TV cocktail of inflated egos and shattered expectations is being poured generously.

Episode four of the Stan Original Dating Series Love Triangle throws our couples into the deep end with the first Triangle Party of the season, as they finally interact with everyone else's triangles. Unsurprisingly, it doesn't take long for the chaos to unfold. What is it about putting all the contestants in one room that magically transforms grown adults into high schoolers at their first social?

Let's break down the mess, shall we?

The Emma-Chloe-Beck triangle is getting more complicated by the minute. After Beck's puzzling 180-degree turn from writing Chloe a heartfelt letter and crying after their kiss to barely engaging with her, Chloe is definitely leaning towards Emma.

And honestly? I don't blame her. Emma and Chloe discover they have loads in common, and their chemistry is undeniable. They even share a kiss that seems promising for their future.

But here's where it gets messy — Emma decides she still wants to explore things with Beck, which is confusing, given just last week she was saying she wasn't sure that Beck should even be on the table for her, given she's here for Chloe. Where is that energy now?

Rightfully so, the situation hits a nerve with Chloe because, at the end of the day, she was supposed to have two suitors vying for her attention, not the other way around. Emma and Beck go on a date together and, surprise surprise, they get along brilliantly. Why can't things ever be simple on this show?

"I'm in a pickle," Emma confesses, seemingly unaware of the emotional whiplash she's causing.

Later at the Triangle Party, when having a conversation about her expectations with Bernie, Chloe drops a truth bomb right in front of Beck and Emma: "If there's doubt, there's no doubt." Translation: Emma's indecision between Chloe and Emma is already an answer in itself. Chloe is not having it.

In an awkward moment, Emma picks up her chair and physically removes herself from the conversation, before shedding a few tears over Chloe's comment, essentially implying that Emma is not her person. It's a mess all around.

Remember when we were all suspicious of Mike's reformed character? Well, he seemed to be proving us wrong this week when he gifted Melissa a workout outfit and vest. I have to admit, it was actually quite thoughtful.

The pair have been getting along surprisingly well... that is, until the triangle party, where the Mike we remember from MAFS begins to resurface. There he is! There's the guy we all loved to hate.

The triangle party is where things really go off the rails for him. When the group discusses Mike's attitude last time they saw him with Melinda, suggesting it's different this week, Mike disagrees — and then proves them right by showing his true colours.

After a bit of warranted questioning from Chloe, out of nowhere Mike says defensively, "This is Chloe. Chloe's irritating."

I'm sorry, WHAT? Even Melissa is taken aback by his unprovoked dig at Chloe. Like, get a grip, sir.

Bernie continues to be... well, Bernie. After going on a date with Jazmin, he thinks Jazmin talks too much and claims there's zero chemistry, yet somehow both Jazmin and Marissa still believe they have something special with him. Maybe that's because he hasn't been honest or forthcoming about his feelings at all.

The man is clearly spinning different stories depending on who he's talking to. Classic reality TV behaviour, really.

But the plot thickens when Bernie decides to shoot his shot with Chloe at the triangle party by slipping her a letter. Bold move for someone already juggling two women.

"I'M NOT BIG ON WHAT IFS," his letter states (all caps, because subtlety isn't Bernie's strong suit). Chloe's reaction? Tears.

"This letter has definitely changed everything for me," she admits.

Ah, the very first potential cheating scandal of the season. A reality TV classic. As if we needed any more complications. What started as a love triangle is now turning into a love square. My anxious heart can't take all this uncertainty.

Poor Payton can't catch a break. She's finding Dante's direct approach overwhelming, wanting to take things "slow and steady" instead.

"Everything just seems to be very rapid," she explains, which seems like a perfectly reasonable concern when you're dating a near-stranger on national television.

Later, at the Triangle Party, Dante — apparently feeling inspired by Mike's audacity and the drama around them — decides to one-up him with his own shocking statement to Payton: "Maybe I would've been better in a different triangle."

He expresses that she is not responding to his attempts to get closer to her.

First of all, sir, no one was talking to you. The sheer audacity to say a statement like that to anyone, let alone in front of the entire group? Payton, understandably devastated, retreats to the bathroom in tears. Chloe, being the girl's girl she is, comforts Payton.

"I feel sad. I feel really bad that I did that. I didn't mean it like that," Dante later says, crying his own tears of regret.

The whole thing is chaos.

Jordan, spotting an opportunity in Dante's catastrophic blunder, swoops in to comfort Payton, offering her his blanket. Strategic? Perhaps. But at least someone's being nice to her. Though, I still hate this man. I'm not convinced.

The episode wraps up with emotions running high on all fronts — Chloe questioning Emma's commitment, Emma feeling torn, Bernie making his move, and Payton considering an early exit: "I'd be happy to pack up and go home tomorrow."

The only couple that seem to be 100% at this point are Ariana and Nuri. Taking bubble baths together, cooking together, kissing. It's the wholesome content we needed.

But with all these new connections forming and original matches falling apart, next week is bound to be even more explosive. Who will stay loyal? Who will jump ship? And will anyone ever tell Bernie to just pick a lane already? Let's find out.

Season three of the Stan Original Dating Series Love Triangle is now streaming on Stan, with a brand new episode every Sunday, only on Stan. Every episode of seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming.
