Mamamia recaps Love Triangle on Stan: The ick is strong with this one.

Buckle in because the ick is strong with this one. Like… really strong.

Episode two of the Stan Original Dating Series Love Triangle introduces us to our two remaining singles: Payton and Ariana.

Let's start with Payton, because this woman's experience so far is 'the ick' personified.

Payton starts the episode chatting to her two potential suitors, Dante and Jordan. Initially, she finds Jordan too boring, and gravitates towards Dante, who is more proactive. That is, until one very weird phone call, which, honestly, even I have blocked out of my mind at this point.

Payton calls Dante for a nice little chat, and he picks up by putting on a high-pitched voice and calling himself "Mrs. Cromwell", Dante's secretary. He then pretends to pass the phone to Dante, before he answers in his normal voice. If ever you could get the ick through the screen… I'm sorry, but I have it. And so does Payton, it seems, because that fateful phone call changes her mind, prompting her to pick Jordan instead.

But things don't get much better for her from there.

Her date with Jordan is… well, interesting. He brings a notebook full of reminders he's written down about her, including her likes and dislikes, which in theory sounds nice but is kind… intense. He then proceeds to make a series of distasteful jokes.

"Oh, you're good with your hands. Wink," he says, in response to her talking about her job as a concreter. Awkward silence.

The ick continues when they move in together in the next phase of the show. Jordan opens his suitcase for what appears to be a show and tell, before pulling out a blue superhero mask and calls himself "Generic Man."

At one point, he even pulls out a green toy of some sort and asks Payton to apologise to it after she "made it feel bad."

As open-minded as I like to be about people's quirks, this is a lot. And it's only day one! But then again, part of me does want to chalk it all down to nerves?

Moving onto Ariana, she is chatting to both Sam and Nuri, when we find out, via a producer, that Sam has ghosted her.

THE DRAMA.

Ah, ghosting. It wouldn't be modern dating (or reality TV nowadays) without it, now would it?

"This is what's wrong with modern dating," Ariana says.

But all is well, because she meets up with Nuri, a 26-year old from New Zealand. The only problem? He's 26-years old. And Ariana wants children yesterday, which she proceeds to tell him on their first date.

Nuri finds it "a little bit off putting" that she's brought up the prospect of children on their first date, but they move forward with the night. The chemistry is chemistry-ing, and they seem to be hitting it off.

Mike and Melinda have moved in together, and it's not off to a great start. True to her promise, Melinda did, in fact, google Mike after the date, and she did not like what she saw. Can you blame her?

She asks Mike about his controversial statements, including the infamous "I'm not your therapist" quote and where he stands now. But Mike kind of brushes it off, claiming that "it was just a thoughtless moment in time."

She doesn't seem convinced and neither are we. For a man who is so keen to shed his previous persona, you'd think he'd be more open to discussing it and how he's changed? But each to their own I guess.

Melinda brings up a conversation they had started on their first date about people who don't take weights off the bar at the gym after they've finished, which admittedly, is annoying. But Melinda just cannot, for the life of her, get over the fact that Mike sometimes does that.

"I do feel that's quite inconsiderate," she says.

Mike claims he doesn't really do it anymore, and acknowledges he wasn't very considerate in the past, and thanks her for bringing it to his attention.

"I think every gym has ever sent out that friendly reminder email to please put your weights back and wipe down the equipment," Melinda adds.

"I just feel like I wouldn't really harp on that," Mike says. "I'll accept that criticism," he then adds.

Honestly, all this over weights at the gym? See, this is why I don't go to the gym.

Bernie and Marissa are our next couple to move in together and, in true reality TV fashion, it's a mess already.

Marissa asks Bernie to stop making jokes about her American accent and we agree, it's time to grow up. It's non-stop. From the moment she steps into the house, he's mocking the way she talks, repeating the words she says in a bad American accent.

"Are you going to keep up with the American stereotypes?" she asks him.

Bernie weirdly responds well, apologises and says he knows how to read the room. But in a confessional the next day, he's chucked a 180, and now has the 'ick' because he thinks Marissa doesn't know how to take a joke.

"I'm a fun guy," he says, claiming Marissa is just so serious.

Is 'fun guy' code for immaturity? Or the inability to communicate your feelings. Because, at this stage, that's what Bernie is giving.

Anyway, onto Chloe and Beck.

Ah, Chloe and Beck. The only couple that I'm holding out hope for at this point. While their connection is still growing, they have a cute little indoor picnic and get to know each other. We love them. Fingers and toes are CROSSED for these cuties.

And that's all we have time for this week. Next week is the first couples' party, and it looks like someone hasn't been entirely honest about their attraction to their match.

Stay tuned to find out who. Dun dun dun!

The first two episodes of the Stan Original Series Love Triangle Season 3 are now streaming, followed by a brand new episode every Sunday, only on Stan. Every episode of seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming.
