Mamamia recaps Love Triangle on Stan: Does this man look familiar to you?

If you've been an avid Married at First Sight fan (me) for the past few months, you might be sad that it's all coming to an end. Where are we supposed to get our weekly dose of dating drama?

Well, worry not, because the Stan Original Dating Series Love Triangle is back for a third season and here to answer all your reality TV wishes.

Imagine this: You've just moved in with your perfect match after choosing them sight unseen.

Your connection is chef's kiss — until your other potential partner (you know, the one you ghosted) shows up at your door with their suitcase.

Awkward? Absolutely. Entertainment gold? You bet your Bachelorette roses it is!

Love Triangle is essentially what happens when you combine the blind-date energy of MAFS with the chaotic "what if" scenario we've all wondered about. And episode 1 is already off to a saucy start.

Let's dive right in.

Bernie, the 27-year-old DJ slash content creator slash artist slash slash slash starts the episode chatting to his two potential matches: Marissa and Jazmin.

From the get-go, it's pretty clear he's more into the spicy, cheeky Marissa than Jazmin, and he does point out some pretty funny icks. In one text exchange, Jazmin accidentally writes "your" instead of "you're" and it feels like an instant done deal. Bernie has the ick. There's no coming back.

"I can't lie, it makes me cringe a little bit," he says.

Now, we all know the feeling of the unexpected and unavoidable ick that pops up at the most unexpected times. It might be a simple spelling error or the way someone chews… you really never know until it happens.

So I get it. But maybe — just maybe — if we stopped being so critical of these little quirks, we might find ourselves opening up a world of new potential. Just some food for thought.

Anyway, so Bernie chooses Marissa and they go on a very spicy date. They're flirting, exchanging cheeky banter, and overall, having a great time. They even share a kiss (a very very intense one, I might add). Overall, the vibes are "hot" (their words, not mine).

But at the end of their date, Marissa drops a bomb and reveals that she actually has a child, something she neglected to mention while they were talking over text. Bernie goes a little pale at the news, but chooses to move forward anyway. All is well.

Our next participant, Mike, will look familiar to many of us because he is none other than Mike Gunner from season six of MAFS. How reality TV words collide. You know, the guy who was paired with Heidi (a literal queen), and made some very questionable, sweeping comments about women including his personal opinion "groups of women under pressure don't cope as well groups of men under pressure."

Again, his words, not mine.

But, this time around, Mike is hoping to put his previous reality TV track record behind him and find love with someone who doesn't have any preconceived notions about him. And it seems he might just have found that.

Despite his many irrational fears about her personal goal to crush a watermelon between her thighs (he literally brings it up at least five times in the lead up), Mike chooses to go on a date with Melinda, a sassy, confident woman who has never heard of him before.

Success!

At the end of the date, Mike is beaming at their connection and Melinda is… well, unsure. In my opinion, Mike may have shot himself in the foot. Because of his fear of being judged for his MAFS history, he awkwardly asks Melinda at least three times whether she recognises him from anywhere. After she says no repeatedly, Mike finally reveals that he was a former MAFS participant but gives no further context. I mean, if this isn't an invitation for someone to look you up right after date, I don't know what is.

And Melinda claims she's going to do just that.

"I want to know more about him. So I think maybe I need to google him. "I'm going to do a bit of a MAFS deep dive," she says. Yikes for Mike. Because we know exactly what she's going to find.

Finally, we come to Chloe. As a bisexual woman, Chloe chooses not to know the gender of the two potential matches she is talking to in order to develop a connection based solely on personality.

At this early stage in the show, we love Chloe. She's non-judgemental, very open, and just seems like a sweetheart.

Ultimately, she chooses to meet B (Beck), who Chloe describes as a mix between both masculine and feminine. They seem to like each other from first sight. That is, until Bec starts to describe her usual type: Masculine, dark hair, dark eyes. Basically the exact opposite of Chloe.

Yikes.

If I went on a date and someone described their ideal type and it was everything I was not, I would have some concerns. So… we're not off to a great start. I wish we would've been able to see more from these two… like a short chat in the middle of a park? Come on.

And that's a wrap for this week's shenanigans. Next week, we'll see the couples actually move in together after one date, which — if reality TV has taught me anything — can be a recipe for disaster. Stay tuned!

The first two episodes of the Stan Original Series Love Triangle Season 3 are now streaming, followed by a brand new episode every Sunday, only on Stan. Every episode of seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming.
