EVERYONE CHILL.
The wait is over.
Beyoncé has finally confirmed that she will headline the cast of the live-action disney reboot and play our favourite lioness Nala in the The Lion King.
In true Beyoncé fashion, after months of circulating rumours, she dropped the news with a single post across her social media with no extra comment or fanfare.
Beyoncé joins previously announced cast mates Donald Glover (Childish Gambino) as Simba and original Mufasa James Earl Jones reprising his 1994 role.
We’ve also learned the rest of the cast, including Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Alfre Woodard as Sarabi, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, Billy Eichner as Timon and Keegan-Michael Key as a hyena.
We cannot right now.
Jon Favreau is set to direct the CGI animated version of The Lion King, with excitement growing after his success turning Disney classic The Jungle Book into a box office hit last year.
Even more anticipated is the soundtrack that will be released alongside the movie, with Beyoncé’s vocals featuring on most tracks.
The remake will premiere on July 19, 2019.
Yes. Please.
