Sophia's mum filmed her singing at pre-school. She never expected it to be watched by millions. 

When Michelle Neshin captured her four-year-old daughter, Sophia, getting a little too into Moana’s ‘How Far I’ll Go’ during a pre-school graduation performance, she thought it was too good not to share.

Never did she think the video, which she posted for her family and friends, would be viewed by millions of people around the world.

“The only reason [the video] was even posted on social media was for family out of the country who had to miss the graduation to be able to see it,” the mum from Miami told Mamamia.

“When people started sharing and liking the video and letting me know how it made them feel, I was beyond shocked. Never in a million years did I ever think that this video of Sophia would go viral.”

But it did. Since hitting the internet in June, Sophia’s confident performance has been viewed by over 11 million people, not including the thousands more who liked, shared and tagged their friends in the multiple memes and gifs that soon followed.

Sophia even caught the eye of Ellen DeGeneres, appearing on her talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday to bang out a second rendition of the song that’s made her internet famous.

But according to Michelle, the young family’s lives haven’t changed all that much. In fact, the toddler has no idea she’s the next Sophia Grace.

“We’ve had some amazing opportunities, but our day-to-day life as a family is exactly the same,” Michelle said

“Honestly, I think Sophia has no idea what being ‘viral’ means at all. All she knows is that people have seen the video and it makes her happy.”

Here’s hoping Sophia never stops belting out Disney tunes. We’ll be singing along with her, that’s for sure.
