Here's what the girl in 'A Little Princess' looks like now.

Liesel Pritzker: Still a brilliant feminist icon 20 years later. 

It’s been 20 years since one of the best children’s movies of its generation was released. A Little Princess had everything – a strong female character, a great storyline and a brilliant take-home message that should be etched into the minds of every woman living in the 21st century.

It taught us that princess wasn’t a title saved for the Kate Middleton‘s of the world. Every female, in their unique, strong, courageous way, could be a princess. Probably just without the expensive jewels and the insane wealth.

Liesel Pritzker – who played the main character in the film, Sara Crewe – definitely doesn’t look like her A Little Princess character anymore. She’s very, very grown up. Which makes sense, since Pritsker is now 31.

Pritzker has led an interesting life in the 20 years since she became our fictional best friend in 1995. In 2005, she successfully sued her family for $900 MILLION (she and her brother claimed their father ‘denied them a proper inheritance’). She’s also worked as a yoga teacher to recovering heroin addicts in India.

Pritzker is also very philanthropic, of course. She put aside $100 million of her family’s money to charity and founded a not-for-profit foundation focusing on education in 2005.
