Welcome to the Nothing To Wear edit, where each week, we delve into the topic we spoke about on the podcast, just for subscribers.
Cold? Same.
That's why this week's episode of Nothing To Wear is all about winter weekend dressing.
Watch: A weekend in the life of Leigh Campbell. Post continues below.
My guest this week is Victoria Latu, Melbourne-based stylist and mother of two. She's the perfect person to chat about chilly days and even frostier mornings and nights when we want to be warm but also look somewhat pulled together.
Listen to the full episode here. Post continues below.
She shared her suggestions for standing on the sidelines at kids' sport right through to what to wear out for dinner.
Inspired by our chat, I've pulled together a list of my winter wardrobe staples. And yes, I'm pro-puffer jacket, even if Victoria is vehemently against them.
Trendy trackies.
Once upon a time, I wouldn't be caught dead wearing tracksuit pants outside of the house on purpose, but now times have changed. Sports-luxe inspired trackies are having a huge moment and are meant to be worn casually with trainers and a jumper, or even dressed up with pumps and a blazer.

Suede pumps.
Boots are an obvious choice for winter, but I really struggle to style them (I think it has to do with the length and shape of the hem of my pants). Instead, I love suede pumps with a mid-heel height. They look great with everything (jeans, tailored or wide leg pants, maxi skirts, even the aforementioned trackies) and are truly a go-to of mine all year round. Wear them with stockings or even fancy socks for an extra fashion edge.

Statement scarfs.
Chic scarfs need no explanation. They're warm, easy to chuck in your bag or car so you can take it on and off as needed, and because they are worn near the face they can really draw the eye away from the rest of your outfit (like when I'm wearing my pajamas under a trenchcoat to school drop off)

Quilted jacket.
I don't care what anyone says, a puffer jacket will always have a loving home in my winter wardrobe. The key is to look for one that has more of a fashion edge and is a bit oversized as opposed to the types that are designed for hardcore outdoor activities like camping and hiking.

Cute knits.
Like almost every woman I know, I live in knitwear in winter. However, it took me a lot of trial and error over the decades (and shrunken cardigans and jumpers) to realise I need to search for options that are machine washable. Now, being able to chuck my knit in the regular wash is a non-negationable.

Luxe loafers.
Most people reach for trainers when picking a casual winter shoe, and I do too if I am going somewhere super casual like kid's Saturday sport. Other than that I'll always opt for a loafer. They're versatile and just as comfy as sneakers while also looking stylish enough to take you to meetings or even lunch. I wear no-show socks with mine for extra warmth.
