LEIGH CAMPBELL: 'The 3 K-Beauty products actually worth the hype.'

If you listen to You Beauty regularly, you'll know I'm a big fan of K-Beauty. Huge.

South Korea creates some of the most innovative skincare and makeup available, with a huge focus on performance and texture. Hydration is paramount in Korean skincare culture, so you'll find formulas are generally very nourishing and gentle.

The makeup category is equally as innovative, boasting the birth of cushion foundations and base products often infused with skincare ingredients. The lip and eye categories offer unique textures and clever innovations, too.

In a recent episode, I raved about a fantastic liquid eyeliner I've been using in multiple ways. Over the past year, I've ordered an obscene amount of K-Beauty products to road-test and honestly, I'm impressed by so, so many of them. The price point is generally in the 'Savey' category, which makes the performance of these products all that more appealing.

Recently, Mamamia contributor, Juna Xu, has trialled countless Korean skincare products and kindly shared her absolute favourites she repurchases time and time again. So, I thought I'd share mine.

Here are three more K-Beauty buys I've bought, used and emptied more than once.

Leigh Campbell's top K-Beauty products.

  1. The Saem Cover Perfection Pot Concealer, $10.83.

The Saem Cover Perfection Pot Concealer,

I'm really fussy when it comes to concealer. I like a lightweight dewy formula for under my eyes, but then need a high-coverage cover-up that stays put but doesn't look chalky or too matte for my areas of pigmentation. I use my finger to tap this onto the spots I want to hide, after foundation and before bronzer. It blends like a dream and grips to exactly where I applied it until I wash my makeup off. I wear the shade 'Rich Beige'.

2. I'm From Rice Toner, $46.

Don't let the word 'toner' in the product name put you off. The first step after cleansing, this liquid lotion is anything but stripping or astringent. Packed with fermented goa rice extract, it hydrates and nourishes in addition to helping your serum step on top penetrate better. It's fragrance-free and great for sensitive skin. I first bought the travel size to try and then immediately purchased the full size. It's so lovely.

3. PeriPera Ink Velvet Lip Tint in 'Calm Rosy', $15.69.

I'm not usually a colour kind of girl but a friend was wearing the most beautiful lip colour on Instagram and when I asked her about it, it was the PeriPera Ink Velvet. It's a highly pigmented formula but unlike lipstick, it feels weightless. The finish is velvety and long-lasting, giving lips that blurred, effortless look — the kind you're after if you CBF with lip liner and precise re-application. My mate was wearing 'Sunny Orange', a punchy coral shade but I use 'Calm Rosy', which is more of a bricky pink.
