LEIGH CAMPBELL: 'The multi-tasking chemist cream for plumper skin.'

Good news, friends. If you're looking for a hardworking skincare product that doesn't cost a bomb, this one's for you. Because our resident beauty expert Leigh Campbell has discovered a gem that tackles multiple concerns at once.

We love to see it.

In a recent episode of Mamamia's You Beauty podcast, Leigh shared her latest Spendy recommendation — though it's surprisingly quite affordable by skincare standards.

Watch: Speaking of beauty, here's Mamamia's contributor Juna Xu trialling the viral finger contour hack. Post continues below.

The product? Hada Labo Tokyo Deep Wrinkle Corrector Eye and Mouth Area Cream.

Tried it before? And yes, you can grab it at the chemist.

What is it? This multi-use cream targets the eye area, mouth area, and those sneaky marionette lines (you know, the ones that run from your nose to your mouth that become more pronounced as we age).

"It launched late last year from Hada Labo Tokyo — which is Japan's number one skincare range," Leigh explained on the podcast.

As the name suggests, it's designed to address deeper wrinkles in the more delicate areas of your face, though Leigh keeps it real about its limitations.

"It's called a 'deep wrinkle corrector' — let's talk about that. Because nothing can really correct deep lines and wrinkles on your face — not unless it's an injectable," she candidly shared.

Despite this honest disclaimer (which we love), Leigh was genuinely impressed with the product's performance. And the multi-functionality is what makes this product stand out. Instead of buying separate products for your eyes, mouth area, and marionette lines (in case that's something you've been doing), this cream does it all.

"It's $34.95, and you could use it in both spots," Leigh said. "It feels like a serum and sits really nice under the makeup (or worn on top to refresh your makeup)."

"You can also put it on your lips as well. Well, I do. But it says to apply it 'around the mouth'," added

The versatility makes it excellent value for money, as Leigh points out: "For thirty-five bucks you're essentially getting an eye cream, a lip cream — or apparently, a marionette cream."

What's in it?

The formula contains some powerful skincare heroes, including collagen to support skin structure, hyaluronic acid for deep hydration and a touch of retinol for cell turnover and wrinkle reduction.

This gentle formulation means it's versatile enough for both day and night use, though as always with retinol products, sun protection during the day is essential. "Obviously you can use it during the day if you put sunscreen on — because it does have retinol in it (even if it's only a little bit)," Leigh explained.

While some of our loyal Youbies commented on its pleasant scent, Leigh mentioned, "People are saying it smells nice. It doesn't have any smell for me." The good news? It sounds like it's subtle enough to avoid irritating sensitive skin.

When it comes to the texture, Leigh described it as "serumish" — lightweight enough to layer under makeup without pilling or creating a heavy feeling on the skin.

For those struggling with dryness around the eyes or mouth area, or if you're noticing those marionette lines becoming more pronounced, this could be a worthwhile addition to your skincare routine.

While Leigh initially flagged this as her Spendy pick on the podcast, she compared it to many eye creams on the market (which can easily run upwards of $80), so it's actually quite reasonably priced —especially considering its multi-use benefits.

"It's just really nice," Leigh concluded simply. Sometimes the best products don't need complicated explanations. They just work.

For a relatively affordable price, you're essentially getting three targeted treatments in one clever little tube — exactly the kind of practical beauty recommendation we've come to expect from Leigh Campbell.
