Laura Henshaw just welcomed her first child. The name is as sweet as her announcement.

In news to brighten your week, KIC co-founder and CEO Laura Henshaw, 33, has welcomed her first child — and the announcement is full of joy.

The health and wellness entrepreneur shared on Instagram over the weekend that she and husband Dalton welcomed a beautiful baby boy on December 3.

"Our whole world, baby Atlas," she wrote on Saturday, alongside a photo of the couple grinning from ear to ear with their little one in their arms.

In another post, Atlas is sound asleep, wrapped in a blue and green crochet blanket and an adorable little blue beanie.

"Five days since our little Atlas entered the world and we couldn't be more grateful," Laura wrote on Sunday.

Laura's pregnancy announcement came just a few months after her best friend and KIC co-founder Stephanie Miller (née Claire Smith) welcomed her second child, daughter Billie.

After meeting Atlas, Steph shared a beautiful message for her best friend.

"Seeing your best friend with their baby for the first time is something else," she wrote.

"Looking at her, knowing what's ahead. Knowing the love and joy she is about to experience is so surreal. Thinking to yourself, she'll get it now. And just being so excited to see her evolve and blossom into the incredible mother you know she's going to be."

Steph said Atlas was lucky to have such wonderful people as parents, and the world is lucky to have him in it.

"Congratulations @dalthenshaw & @laura.henshaw, and welcome to the club of late-night texts, venting sessions, gigantic coffees, endless questions, delayed responses, letting go of control, tired hello's, bringing up your child in any conversation you can, and a joy that's impossible to explain," she said.

"Aunty Steph loves you so much already little Atlas. The excitement I have imagining you playing with my babies and growing up together is next level."

Laura announced her pregnancy back in June, posting a black-and-white video of her ultrasound accompanied by her trademark wide grin — and not a single word.

Just a red heart emoji.

In classic Laura style, she teased the announcement earlier in the day on her Instagram Stories with the caption: "Guys, I have news for you and I have so many words and thoughts and feelings but for now..."

It didn't take long for the comments to roll in. Fans and famous friends alike were quick to flood the post with joy.

"GUYS THIS IS THE BEST NEWS EVER 😭😭😭 so so happy for you ❤️❤️❤️❤️" wrote influencer Jade Tunchy.

"Wowwwww! Congratulations lovely," said big wave surfer Laura Enever.

It's a full-circle moment for Laura, who has previously spoken candidly about her uncertainty around having kids.

In a piece for Mamamia last year, she wrote: "Growing up, I always assumed I would have children, because that's 'what women do'. But I've never had that innate feeling of knowing that I want to be a mum. I thought when I hit 31 I would feel ready, but over the past few years, the older I have gotten — the less ready I feel."

"There's so much to take into consideration. What if I wait 'too' long? I'll lose momentum in my career. My priorities will shift. I'll no longer have time for myself or my husband. I started asking myself, do I actually want kids?"

She explored the topic further in a three-part podcast series titled Do I Want Kids?, where she spoke to child-free advocates, parents, relationship experts and her husband, Dalton.

Speaking to ELLE Australia earlier this year, she reflected on the shame she once felt around her indecision.

"I felt ashamed about it," she said. "We live in this prenatal society, which basically means that in the society we live in, there is the assumption that we will have children."

She continued: "I blinked and all my friends went from talking about contraception to being pregnant or having kids. And I started to feel like, what is wrong with me?"

At the time, she made it clear she did want children with Dalton — just not yet.

And now is finally the right time for the couple to enter the world of parenthood.

Laura and Dalton have been happily married for four years now.

They met at a Christmas party, and while they were friends at first, soon a romance ensued. Despite describing themselves as "such different people" to Vogue, soon enough they realised they were meant to be.

In a touching and progressive gesture, Dalton took Laura's last name when they wed in 2021.

During an Instagram Q&A, a fan once asked why. Laura shared a video of Dalton explaining, "The core reason why is that it was always a conversation for me and it always has been.

"Nothing has ever been assumed as I was growing up, regardless of growing up in what would be a traditional woman taking the man's surname environment or family."

He added: "In this case, it was always a conversation and that led to me taking Laura's name."

Dalton also explained the decision in a heartfelt Instagram post after their wedding.

"You can still call me Dalton, Dalt, Dolphin, whatever you like… I'm still the same me and always will be," he said. "I'm just going to sign off one chapter and start another with my beautiful, driven and inspirational wife by my side as Mr Henshaw."

Congratulations, Laura and Dalton!
