Matty J and Laura Byrne's third baby is on the way. They just quietly shared her name.

Laura Byrne and Matty J are getting ready to welcome their third little girl into the world — and now they've just shared her name.

In May, the beloved Bachelor success story shared the joyful news they were expanding their family once again, announcing they're expecting baby number three.

Now, in a new interview on Stellar's Something To Talk About podcast, the pair shared her name: Poppy.

"We are absolutely excited and we cannot wait to meet this little girl, Poppy," Matty said.

The couple said the reaction when telling people they're expecting a third child was "worlds apart" from their first and second.

"It is different with number three," Matty said.

"Number one and number two, everyone's really positive. They're like, 'Oh my God, this is amazing' for your first. 'How beautiful.' Number two? 'Your family's now complete.'

"And then number three, people are going, 'You're crazy. What are you doing? Wow. Good luck, because that's going to be hell.'

"We're in this position of bracing ourselves for what's to come, which does feel a little bit strange."

Laura chimed in, saying she knows the chaos that is about to come, but despite everything, she feels "the most relaxed about this one" than she's ever been.

Back in May, the couple shared the sweetest pregnancy announcement, but it was their four-year-old daughter Lola who stole the show.

In the oh-so-cute video, a smiling Lola makes the grand announcement.

"Hi everyone, I got a baby in my mum's tummy and I'm so excited," she says as she runs around the house smiling. "I'm so, so, so, so, excited."

There's a bit of toddler babble we can't quite discern, but the little announcer continues, "I'd really like it to get a baby out. It's coming out today! Not really. But I'd really like the baby to come out."

"It's not coming out … but I really love it."

And Lola's not the only one excited about the news

Laura captioned the post: "We are SO SO SO EXCITED!!!! Johnson #3 under construction."

Ahhh, our hearts!

But, it wasn't all smooth sailing for the happy couple.

'I didn't want to celebrate that we were having a kid.'

A week after the happy news, Matty spoke candidly about his fears around the pregnancy during his podcast Two Doting Dads, which he hosts alongside Ash Wicks.

He shared that he and Laura had previously suffered two miscarriages while building their family, a grief that made him hesitant to celebrate.

"When I found out, we were at 11 weeks. We didn't even have the big tests, and so I was conscious that it was very early days, and I didn't want to celebrate that we were having a kid," he said.

"With our cycle, when I say ours I mean Laura's. Our first child was a miscarriage, then Laura was pregnant with Marlie. After Marlie was born, she got pregnant again and we lost that child around 12 weeks. And then we had Lola."

He continued, adding he was worried they are "kind of due for another miscarriage".

"I have moments where I'm trying to envision having a newborn baby in the house, but at the same time, every time I start to imagine it, I put the handbrake up.

"Because I'm like, just waiting for those signs that something might be going wrong.

"It's so hard because when that is taken away from you, there's no greater emotional whiplash than having a miscarriage."

At the time of the podcast recording, Laura was 15 weeks along. The main tests have since been done and Matty said the pregnancy is "tracking nicely".

Laura and Matty met on the fifth season of The Bachelor Australia in 2017, and wed in 2022.

They share two daughters together, Marlie-Mae, who is six, and Lola, four.

A sweet gender reveal.

On the afternoon they announced they were expecting their third child, Laura cut into a gender reveal cake on air during KIIS FM show The Pick Up.

After a suspenseful moment, the happy couple revealed that they are expecting… another girl.

This means their third child will be a little sister to their daughters Marlie-Mae and Lola, continuing the family's tradition of girls.

"Am I capable of producing boys? I'm worried. Let's go again. Let's go for a fourth," Matty joked at the news. Adding, "I'm thrilled. I love being a 'girl dad'. Obviously, that's matched with a feeling of the fact that I'm never going to have a son. I'm happy. I'm thrilled to have a beautiful girl."

Laura added, "I love you honey. It's going to be the best thing ever. We are so lucky to have two little girls and think about three little sisters together. It's going to be amazing."

On deciding to reveal the gender before the delivery day (something they didn't do with their first two), Matt said he didn't get why they needed to wait.

"I don't understand why people want to lump in all those surprises on the one day. Why not spread them out?" he said.

It's been an interesting pregnancy journey for the couple.

Turns out, Laura found out she was pregnant while Matt was in the I'm A Celebrity Jungle — and she shared all the goss on her podcast, Life Uncut.

Laura said she's 18 weeks pregnant and has been keeping the secret for some time.

"I found out very early on with this pregnancy," she said.

"One of my girlfriends was like, 'Wouldn't it be funny if you found out you were pregnant when he's in there?' She didn't really know that we were trying. And I was like, 'Ah, that's actually a possibility'."

Laura walked upstairs and peed on the stick, expecting it to be nothing.

"Then I looked at the stick and I was like, 'F**k off, is that a line?'"

It was two days after Matt had left for the jungle, meaning he had no phone and was completely non-contactable.

"I said to Laura that if I make it to the end of the jungle to tell me. If you find out you're pregnant while I am away, come onto the show and tell me," he said on his podcast, Two Doting Dads.

But ultimately, Laura decided to wait until after the show's finale aired.

"I didn't want to take away from an experience that he was having and kind of like experience top it with another thing, and I also wanted him to have some time to process what a huge thing he'd just been through," she said.

But first, listen to Laura talk about her family on Mamamia's But Are You Happy? Post continues below.

A family born from a reality TV meet cute.

The couple's love story began on season five of The Bachelor, where Matty J chose Laura in the finale after his own heartbreak as runner-up on Georgia Love's season of The Bachelorette.

Their journey to parenthood hasn't always been smooth sailing. Early in their relationship, Laura experienced a miscarriage before becoming pregnant with their eldest daughter, Marlie-Mae.

"I felt so, so sad... and there was zero relief. And that was the realisation that we really wanted to be parents," Laura previously told Mia Freedman on the No Filter podcast.

"So we just threw caution to the wind, and I was soon pregnant again, this time with little Marlie."

Marlie was born two weeks overdue in June 2019 at the Royal Hospital for Women in Sydney. While the birth was complex and stressful, the family of three soon settled into their new life.

Then, they set their sights on baby number two.

Their second daughter, Lola, joined the family in February 2021, just 18 months after Marlie arrived.

They've spoken openly about the jump from one to two kids being intense.

"When Marlie was three months old, we took her travelling and I remember thinking, 'Oh, this having kids' thing is easy.' Then Lola came along and smacked the stupidity out of us," Laura told Mamamia in an interview from 2021.

"Two kids is hard. Also, people expect you to know what you are doing with your second and because each baby is so different — you don't. Things I thought I had down with Marlie, I did not know what to do with Lola."

However, the family adapted to their new normal and have been thriving ever since.

Their daughters have become the centre of their world and, let's be honest, the stars of many a relatable parenting anecdote.

In 2023, the couple revealed they weren't entirely on the same page about expanding their family further.

"It's a big conversation that we've been having recently," Laura told Mamamia. "It's easy for me to say that I want to have another child because I'm not doing all the stuff Matt's doing."

At the time, Matty joked about Laura's suggestion for a third child after returning from a work trip: "My knee-jerk reaction is, 'What the f**k do you mean?!'"

But it seems the couple, who tied the knot in 2022, couldn't resist the pull of having another mini-Johnson running around.

"I think the reason why I would want to have a third is because I can't imagine there being a time when we don't have a toddler — I love age two so much. It's my favourite age that we've experienced so far, it's so funny," Laura previously shared.

The pregnancy news comes during an already hectic period for the couple.

Laura continues to juggle her jewellery brand ToniMay and her wildly successful podcast Life Uncut with Brittany Hockley, while Matty recently appeared on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here Australia 2025 and co-hosts the Two Doting Dads podcast. They are also in the process of renovating their house.

Their announcement post was quickly flooded with congratulatory messages, as everyone praised the cutest announcement ever.

We'll be eagerly awaiting more updates as Laura and Matty J prepare to welcome their third bundle of joy in October!
