CONGRATULATIONS: Laura Byrne and Matty J have welcomed their first child.

In some news guaranteed to brighten up your day, Laura Byrne and Matty J have welcomed a baby girl named Marlie-Mae Rose Johnson.

“Still letting the last 24 hours sink in, they’ve been the most rewarding, loving and emotional I’ve ever experienced,” Matty J posted on Instagram.

“Laura, you did the most incredible job bringing our little girl Marlie-Mae Rose Johnson into the world,” he added.

“Becoming a Dad was better than I ever could have imagined.”

Laura also shared a photo on Instagram, sharing that their daughter was named after their two grandmothers.

“You’re more than we could have ever hoped for,” she wrote.

It’s the first child for the couple who met on the 2017 season of The Bachelor.

The birth comes after the couple miscarried in June last year when Laura was seven weeks pregnant.

She told the Daily Telegraph she and marketing manager turned radio host Matty were both surprised to discover she was pregnant again just three months later, and she was instinctively cautious about announcing it.

“When you’ve had a miscarriage, you worry if there is something wrong with you,” she said. “It is not something that people really talk about but actually one in four pregnancies end that way, you just don’t hear about it.”

Appearing on Nova’s Summer Breakfast, Laura said, “It definitely wasn’t fun having the media trying to out it before I was ready”.

“Especially because, you know, there’s definitely a period there where privacy’s really important because you just don’t know what’s happening, and so that is a bit stressful.”

The couple were careful not to have the news leaked in the press, with Laura explaining that tabloids “couldn’t get photos of me because I didn’t leave [my house]”.

The 33-year-old also wore “really aggressive, double thickness spanx” for events, worried her bump would show.

They announced their pregnancy in December, posting their sonogram photos from a beach photo shoot.

“I’m so bad at keeping secrets so I’m EXTREMELY excited to let everyone know, we are having a little baby!” marketing manager turned radio host Matty wrote on Instagram.

“@ladyandacat I love you more than words can describe and I can’t wait to start our family together. WE ARE GOING TO BE PARENTS!!”

Laura also posted similar images, saying “happy doesn’t even come close” to how they feel about the news.

“WE ARE HAVING A BABY!!!! Old mate @matthewdavidjohnson and I are beyond excited to finally be able to share that I’m cooking an orange sized baby Johnson-Byrne,” the jewellery designer said.
