Congratulations to Simon Cowell who has become a father for the first time.

His girlfriend, Lauren Silverman, delivered a healthy baby boy on Valentine’s Day.

The baby’s name is Simon Eric Cowell. Eric was the name of Simon (Snr.)’s late father.

The 54-year-old X Factor judge rushed to New York’s Lenox Hill Hospital to be with Silverman. The baby was delivered in same suite that Beyonce delivered her daughter, Blue Ivy.

Christina Aguilera is engaged to her former-boyfriend-now-fiance, Matt Rutler.

The 33-year-old singer announced her engagement on Instagram:

This will be Aguilera’s second marriage. She was married to Jordan Bratman from 2005-2011, with whom she has a son, Max.

Lara Bingle: Where the bloody hell are you going?

Looks like Lara Bingle has ditched Sydney for New York. The model/reality TV star has confirmed she’s moving to NY, NY with her actor boyfriend, Sam Worthington.

Which means no more sunny beach bikini photos on Instagram, and a whole bunch more blizzard shots from a New York winter.

Bingle, 26, and Worthington, 37, have been dating for five months.

We got the news of the couple’s move straight from Bingle herself: ‘I’m here to stay!’ Bingle told New York based photographer and brother of Naomi Watts, Ben Watts on Instagram. ‘Catch up this week?

It’s not the first we’ve heard of Bingle’s plans to move away from Australia. She told Woman’s Day that she and Worthington don’t like the paparazzi who hound them here.

“I don’t like the attention. We don’t get any peace,” she said. “Sydney’s my home but I don’t like it. I can’t even go to the supermarket without getting papped… Sam hates it.”

Sharknado is back, with all your favourite D-grade stars

Holy flying sharks! The worst/best movie of all time has just landed a sequel.

Yep, Sharknado is back.

We’re not entirely sure how a second movie could possibly top the first, a patently ridiculous film about a deadly tornado filled with sharks that can only be killed when a bikini babe throws a bomb into the wind from a helicopter. But we’d like to see them try.

Meanwhile, the cast is basically a Who’s Who of Almost-Famous People. Kelly Osbourne will play a sassy flight attendant. Andy Dick will be a New York city police officer, Judd Hirsch will be a cab driver. And yes, Tara Reid is back to reprise her original role alongside Ian Ziering.

Remember Billy Ray Cyrus? Father of Miley Cyrus, one-hit-wonder country singer with the mega-hit Achy Breaky Heart? The one and only man who thinks rhyming Achy with Breaky is acceptable song-writing?

How I Met Your Dad is coming

With cult sitcom How I Met Your Mother set to wrap up very soon, the producers of the show have come up with a way to fill the giant whole in our TV-loving hearts that will leave.

It’s finally been confirmed that How I Met Your Dad is going to happen. And the star, who’ll take us through how she met her kids’ father?

It’s Greta Gerwig. Who you might remember from her breakout role in comedy flick Frances Ha last year.

If the series gets picked up by CBS, Greta will come on in the capacity of writer and producer as well as the show’s lead character. So it’s quite a gig!

How I Met Your Mother will air its final episode on March 31st, with a final reveal of how main character Ted Moseby met the mother of his children.

No word yet on when the spin-off will start filming, but we’ll keep you updated.

Margot Robbie’s wild new role.

Our favourite new Hollywood sweetheart, Aussie 23-year-old Margot Robbie, has just landed a wild new gig.

She’ll star as Tarzan’s love interest Jane in a new 3D version of the famous jungle-bound rom-com, Tarzan.

She’ll be joined in the jungle by Alexander Skarsgard, Samuel L Jackson and Christopher Waltz.

David Yates, the man who directed the last Harry Potter movies, is on board to direct.

We can’t wait.

Hugh Jackman’s going to host the Tony Awards, of course

The handsome Wolverine actor / national treasure will host the 2014 Tony Awards for the fourth time. The award ceremony, which celebrates the best talent on Broadway, will take place on June 8th at the iconic Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Veteran host Neil Patrick Harris has stepped aside gracefully for Jackman to reprise his hosting gig.

The most famous trio of sisters in the world are on another magazine cover. And their famous curves have mysteriously disappeared.

A British tabloid put it delicately, saying the sisters look “hacked, chopped, and re-sculpted” with Khloe as “the primary victim of the overzealous retoucher”.

Michelle Obama has advice for Justin Bieber’s mum

The First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, has some advice for The Biebs. Or, actually, for his mama.

If Justin Bieber was Michelle’s baby train wreck, this is what she’d do. “I don’t know if it would be advice as much as action,” Obama said.

“I would be very present in his life right now. And I would be probably with him a good chunk of the time, just there to talk, to figure out what’s going on in his head, to figure out who’s in his life and who’s not, you know.”

Michelle Obama added that Bieber is “still a kid, he’s still growing up.” This is what Bieber’s actual mom, Pattie Mallette, said: “If Justin’s struggling, don’t kick him when he’s down or condemn him — pray for him.”

Michael Jackson fans paid $1.36 each

They were among 34 fans who sued Dr Conrad Murray, the doctor who administered the anaesthesia that killed legendary pop star Michael Jackson at age 50 in 2009.

These five fans were part of an MJ fan club in France, and each of them has a medical certificate to prove how emotionally distressed they were by the singer’s death.

“As far as I know, this is the first time in the world that the notion of emotional damage in connection with a pop star has been recognized,” French lawyer Emmanuel Ludot, who represented the claimants, said. “They have been subjected to ridicule and I am delighted their suffering has been taken seriously by the law.”

None of the fans will be collecting their Euro of compensation, but they feel validated by the judge’s finding.

We sincerely hope they moonwalked out of the court.

Lupita Nyong’o looks flawless on the cover of New York magazine

12 Years A Slave actress Lupita Nyong’o looks absolutely heavenly on the Spring issue of New York magazine.

Here she is in Stella McCartney.

Inside the mag, Lupita opens up about her lightning-speed rise to fame and what it feels like to be recognised everywhere she goes.

“I’ve been in a bubble. I haven’t been out much. I haven’t gotten used to being recognized,” she says. “I was blissfully ignorant of the magnitude of the project I was in or what it was going to mean for the world.”

For someone who moved from unknown Kenyan actress to super-star, the paparazzi have been a shock: “I don’t know who they were waiting for, but they definitely chased me down, which is a startling, disturbing experience. I did not expect it. I went into flight mode.”

In fact, her entire move to America has been a shock for Lupita: “I find my freedom in structure. It was very hard to adjust to an individualistic and very liberal system. I mean, my upbringing, I would iron my clothes every night. I would plan what I wore the night before, and then I would iron it. That’s just the way my mom raised us. Then I got to Hampshire, where clothing is sometimes optional and all this kind of thing. I was mortified.”

Of course fast-bowler Shane Warne is planning a career in pop music. Of course. 

How did we not see this coming? He’s been dropping clues he wants to be a pop star for ages: posting half-naked selfies, courting a supermodel, a high-profile on-again/off-again romance, an intimate relationship with fake tan and teeth whitening gel.

Now all he needs is a song to launch this bad boy into pop stardom.

The 44-year-old cricketing legend revealed this morning that he’s writing a song for a very famous buddy.

“The song’s basically about life,” Warnie told Kyle and Jackie O. “I’m just putting it down. It could be absolute rubbish but I’m trying. I’m giving it to a mate who is in a pretty cool band and I’m going to see what he thinks of it.”

Warnie’s been very coy about who his famous friend is, but he did say they’re in one of the world’s most famous bands.
