It was tipped to be the highlight of the Grammys, and Lady Gaga did not disappoint.
The singer honoured the late singer David Bowie in an incredible performance that spanned decades of his work.
Gaga’s tribute included some of Bowie’s greatest hits — Space Oddity, Changes, Ziggy Stardust and Suffragette City. Impressively, the performance also included a transformation of the singer into David Bowie.
According to E, National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) president Neil Portnoy hinted before the show that there’s “some very exciting brand new technology that’s never been seen on television that will be a part of the segment.”
He added that Gaga was one of their first choices for the tribute, but they were initially unsure if she would agree to the performance.
Fortunately, Gaga confirmed, and only a day before her performance, revealed a new tattoo of David Bowie taken from the cover of his album Aladdin Sane.
