School linked to child porn ring
A school in the Philippines has been raided by Government authorities over an alleged internet child porn operation that has been taking place within the Mountaintop Christian Academy. The school’s president and eight other people have been arrested. Cybercrime investigation head Ronald Aguto said he suspects that a room at the school rented by an American was used by people who posted images and videos of children and adults online. Mr Aguto has also said that they don’t believe children, of which there are around 2000 between preschool to high school, were being abused.
Mother gives birth to surprise fourth baby
Kimberly Fugate had just finished delivering her identical triplets, when she heard her doctor scream 'more feet, more feet!' A fourth identical quadruplet had remained undetected during Ms Fugate's pregnancy, despite all of her ultrasounds. The fourth baby girl was a complete surprise, arriving after her three sisters last week at the UNiversity of Mississippi Medical Centre. Now called the 'Fugate four', the girls have been named Kayleigh Pearl, Kelsey Roxanne, Kenleigh Rosa and Kristen Sue.
Manus Island riot labelled 'predictable'
A former guard of the Manus Island detention centre has come forward and declared that the recent riot was 'predictable', as calls for an inquiry into the incident increase. Rod St George, head of occupational healthy and safety at the detention centre up until the end of last year, spoke to ABC Radio this morning about torture and sexual abuse at the centre, saying 'I regret I couldn't have done more to prevent it.' Currently 100 security staff are on standby, following Monday night's attack which left one person confirmed dead and at least 77 others with severe injuries.
