New book claims that Kim Kardashian's sex tape was deliberately leaked...by Kris Jenner.

It has long been rumoured that the leaked sex tape responsible for making Kim Kardashian famous probably wasn’t an accident.

Kim has always maintained that she never gave consent for the distribution of the video, and told Oprah that the x-rated film ‘humiliated’ her family.

But now, a new book claims that Kris Jenner helped her daughter deliberately leak the infamous sex tape, reports the New York Post.

The book titled Kardashian Dynasty alleges that in 2007 Kim Kardashian signed a contract with Vivid Films, the distributors of the sex tape featuring Kim's boyfriend at the time, Ray J.

Author Ian Halperin claims a source in "the adult film industry" advised Kim that to achieve fame, "a sex tape would be the way to go." The author also alleges that Kim's family were aware of the plans for the video well before its release.

Halperin's writes that it was during his relationship with Kim's friend 'Sheba' that he uncovered the information. In 2010, Sheba revealed to him that Kris Jenner "engineered the deal behind the scenes and was responsible for the tape seeing the light of day."

Halperin, a noble man who wanted only to get to the bottom of the story, claims he went undercover as a 'porn peddler' to understand the logistics of distributing a celebrity sex tape.

Wow. What a sacrifice.

In true investigative style, he fabricated a tape between a model and famous basketball player, but when he tried to sell the tape to Vivid Films, he was told "when it comes to marketing and selling a sex tape, both parties need to sign off." When Halperin specifically asked about Kardashian's tape, the publicist said, “A third party brought it to Vivid ... [We] got in touch with the Kardashian family.”

The publicist then allegedly told Halperin, “I can tell you right now. Kim Kardashian’s movie came out in ’07, and she’s made millions.” Halperin says he was told that when it comes to celebrity sex tapes, they tend to get leaked anyway. So Vivid Films explain to people like Kim Kardashian "why not work for us, and we’ll make sure that it will not only get out, but that it will be distributed the way you want.”

Verrrrry interesting.

Kim K: Superstar was released in 2007. Kardashian sued Vivid Films for its release, and settled for $5 million.

In what is likely to be a piece of literature that truly stands the test of time, Halperin concludes in his book, “It is clear that Vivid would not have announced plans to distribute Kim’s tape without a clear indication from the family that they would give the go-ahead once they had come to terms on a price.”

When asked for a comment, representatives of the Kardashian family responded, “All the assertions are false.”
