The new subscription boxes inspiring kids to get crafty.

One of my favourite memories of early childhood was the craft activities my Mum would set up for my little brother and me.

Using random items found around the house – think Froot Loops, shaving cream, food colouring and pipe cleaners – we created artwork to go on the fridge, explored different textures and conducted messy science experiments.

With two children who were nagging to be entertained, Jess discovered that organising craft projects for her kids often involved buying obscure, pricey products, only to be used once for a 30-minute activity.

The Make and Create subscription service caters to children aged two to twelve, with three types of boxes on offer designed specifically to develop and challenge your child’s interests.

‘Junior Boxes’, for children aged two to five, are focused on art, creation and messy, sensory fun.

The ‘Arts & Crafts Boxes’, for children aged six to twelve, are for children to create something special they can hang on the wall or gift to a family member.

Another option for children aged six to twelve, ‘STEM boxes’ are described as best for “inquisitive souls”, allowing your child to tinker with their science, technology and math skills to create something unique.
