Everybody wants Kendall Jenner's $2 tank top.

There was a time when fashion lovers lusted after a nice cashmere jumper or maybe a genuine leather handbag. Now? We've fully lost the plot. Because what we're collectively losing our minds over is… a see-through boys' tank top Kendall Jenner wore to a Knicks game.

Yep. A children's singlet. And the frenzy is real.

Jenner was spotted courtside last week, third-wheeling sister Kylie and her passionate Knicks-loving beau Timothée Chalamet. And despite being the extra guest, Kendall's outfit did not go unnoticed. Specifically, the teeny white ribbed tank she wore, which TikTokers immediately went feral over.

It was TikTok star Tinx who cracked the case.

"I asked my shopaholic community, 'Where's it from?'" she said in a video. "They all said Hanes. I'm 99% sure it's a Hanes Boys Tank."

Not some niche elevated label. No.

A pack of children's singlets from Hanes, the American version of Big W or Best & Less.

And yet… she looked so chic.

Listen: Lucinda Pikkat on what makes brands 'cool'. Post continues below.

Kendall's exact tank is believed to be the Hanes EcoSmart Cotton Tank, a $10 five-pack sold in the US — though if you want to get your hands on it in Australia, you'll need to fork out $36 on Amazon. And while we can't formally confirm it's the exact one, the internet seems pretty sold.

The hullabaloo about this one item is so big, major retail brands are surely getting jealous. Fashion websites are all over it. TikTokers have been posting sizing advice and showing off their wares.

It's been a grassroots takeover.

And look — there's actually a lot to love about a ribbed white tank. It's the kind of staple that looks good with everything, and it's always in style.

Kendall's look proves you don't need to drop half your pay cheque to get one.

That said… let's talk about the elephant in the changing room.

As much as we love cheap and cheerful fashion finds, it's a bit disheartening that the way to replicate Kendall's look is by buying clothing designed for children.

Women are already expected to shrink themselves to fit impossible standards — must we now graduate to literal boys' sizes to be on trend?

Plus, there's a deluge of creators online saying they're even sizing down from the XL to the L for a 'tighter fit'. Triggering to many, we know.

The fact is that wearing children's clothing is largely inaccessible to the average Australian woman.

And that's how it should be because, well, it wasn't made for us!

If you're still vibing the look but would rather shop something made for adults, there are Aussie-friendly options.

For a slightly more elevated neckline, why not try the Bonds Organics Women's Chesty Singlet, $13.79.

For a looser, relaxed feel, even the Bonds Men's version, which comes in a two-pack for $17.99.

Or if you can't be strayed from Kendall's bizarre sizing choices, the Boys' 3-pack — which is currently on sale for $13.79.

At the end of the day, Kendall could wear a potato sack and look like she's walking a runway. But that doesn't mean we need to squeeze into kids' sizes to keep up.
