After months of speculation, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have shared a joint statement.

After months of speculation, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have finally addressed their split, confirming they have parted ways.

People first reported the breakup last week, following widespread rumours of the couple's estrangement.

Now, Katy and Orlando have taken control of the narrative.

"Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry's relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting," reps for the former couple said in a joint statement to Page Six on Friday.

"They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect."

It comes after a source earlier told People the split was "amicable" but the stars "got to a point where they feel there is no going back to a healthy relationship and that it's better to live separate lives".

Now, sources say Katy is adjusting to her new role as solo parent, as she "never saw herself as a single mum".

"She's felt a lot of pressure about her tour and now this. It's been a lot for her," a source told the publication.

Days after it was confirmed that Katy and Orlando had split, the singer shared her first post on social media. And it gives us an insight into how she is coping after weeks of rumours and speculation about her relationship.

While Orlando was in Italy having just attended Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's star-studded wedding, Katy was in Australia for her Lifetimes world tour.

She was joined by her and Orlando's four-year-old daughter Daisy.

In her first post since the initial news broke, Katy has shared a slew of photos to Instagram from her time in Australia, featuring Daisy and some quokkas.

The post, which was captioned "mood: Quokka", was inundated with comments of support from Katy's nearest and dearest.

Lauren Sánchez even took time away from her extravagant wedding to send the singer a message, writing "We miss you Katy" accompanied by a red heart emoji.

This comes after Orlando made an unexpected move.

The actor flew all the way to Australia to join the pop star in Perth, before jetting off as quickly as he arrived to go to Italy.

While Down Under, Orlando was photographed without Katy, with Daisy Dove riding on his shoulders.

The timing felt deliberate. Whether he was there to address their relationship privately or present a united front publicly, we can't be sure, but it was reminiscent of other celebrity couples who've used strategic appearances during difficult periods.

It calls to mind the absence of Hailey Bieber's wedding ring during the recent Justin Bieber speculation, or closer to home, the subtle social media hints from Tammy Hembrow and Matt Zukowski before they confirmed their split.

But relationship rumours in the celebrity world are often more complex than they appear.

A tour, a text, a divorce.

This isn't the first time Katy has been navigating a breakup while on a world tour.

On December 31st 2011, right before she was about to perform in front of over 25,000 people in São Paulo, Katy received a text message from her then-husband Russell Brand. He told her he wanted a divorce.

The heartbreaking moment was captured on film for Katy's Part of Me concert documentary, released a year later.

Katy, who was 27 at the time, was seen sobbing and shaking on her makeup chair. Her team stood around her helpless as thousands of fans chanted her name in anticipation for the show.

Eventually, a member of the crew approached her and said, "You have two options: you can cancel the show or you can do your best."

There was a moment of silence, before Katy composed herself and told her makeup artist to start.

She kept crying as she walked under the stage. Then, as she started to rise, the singer took a breath. And right before she was in front of the audience, Katy plastered a smile on her face and started singing to a cacophony of cheers.

It's a chilling moment to watch.

A year later, Katy spoke about Russell in an interview to Vogue, confirming that they hadn't been in contact since that day.

"He's a very smart man, and I was in love with him when I married him," she told the publication. "Let's just say I haven't heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011."

The divorce crushed her.

In an interview with Sunday Times, Katy shared: "I was in bed for about two weeks. I was pretty f***d, yes. It hurt a lot."

She added: "My self-worth was in someone else's hands which is never a good idea because it can be taken from you at any time."

But apparently, this time around, she's "doing great" amid her split from Orlando.

So how did we get here? And why are people suddenly reporting that their nearly decade-long relationship is over?

To understand that, we need to rewind a few weeks.

How the Orlando-Katy split rumours began.

Fears for the couple's relationship began earlier this month when a source told PEOPLE the couple are "pretty much done."

The same source added they "don't really see them being able to turn things around here."

"It's been breaking down the last couple of months and isn't looking good," they said.

Katy then fuelled the speculation during a Sydney show.

While performing her song 'I'm Still Breathing', which features lyrics such as "we're going down for sure, already lost our grip, best abandon ship," the singer made a cryptic comment some interpreted as pointed towards Orlando.

"This song is about a break-up, and this Tim Tam saved me," she told the crowd, referring to the beloved Aussie snack.

Katy last publicly referred to Orlando in May when introducing her song 'I'm His, He's Mine'. At the time, she jokingly accused a man of messaging the actor on Instagram.

"You didn't come to see me play," she said on stage. "If you keep on DM'ing my man, I'm going to have you removed. Seriously, get your own life."

'It did cause some tension.'

Katy has a lot riding on the success of her tour, having sold-out shows in Mexico and Australia.

"This comeback means a lot to her. She wants to give fans the best show," a source told PEOPLE.

Despite this, Katy has experienced significant criticism about the quality of her performances. As a result, the pop star has reportedly been "disappointed in some of the tour reviews," which has "put stress" on her relationship with Orlando.

This speculation comes after a different insider told PEOPLE the couple experienced strain in their relationship following the release of Katy's latest album, 143.

Orlando is also reported to have expressed doubt about Katy's Blue Origin space flight stunt.

In February, Katy addressed criticism about her album, explaining that she tries not to read reviews.

"You shouldn't read it when it's good. You shouldn't read it when it's bad," she told PEOPLE.

She added: "My therapist said something that really changed my life. What anybody thinks about you is none of your business. It's what you think about yourself."

Two months later, Katy posted on Instagram: "When the 'online' world tries to make me a human Piñata, I take it with grace and send them love, 'cause I know so many people are hurting in so many ways and the internet is very much so a dumping ground for unhinged and unhealed.

"Please know I am OK," Katy reassured fans. "I have done a lot of work around knowing who I am, what is real and what is important to me."

Their relationship timeline.

Katy and Orlando met at a Golden Globes party in 2016, reportedly fighting over a burger, and started dating soon after. They got engaged in 2019 and welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove, the following year.

Orlando also shares a son, Flynn, with Australian model Miranda Kerr.

Katy has previously praised Miranda, saying that she was "proud to be family with a woman who is living her truth every day with grace and beauty," at the 2023 G'day USA Gala.

"I'm so grateful for our modern blended family. It's like I gained another sister, one with whom I usually sidebar from the main family chat and agree with," she said.

A year earlier, in her cover story for LVR Magazine, Miranda equally gushed over Katy.

"I adore Katy and am grateful Orlando found someone he is happy with. Now Flynn has four happy parents who get along," she said.

"When we separated, the most important thing we decided we could do is that when we make a decision, we ask: 'Is this in the best interest of our child?' We will be family no matter what."

Neither Perry nor Bloom have publicly addressed the split.
