It’s rare for us to see Kate Middleton without high heels, but we all know the pain of wearing them.

The Duchess of Cambridge manages to wear her heels for very long periods of time during royal engagements, and always with a smile on her face.

Either she's superhuman (we cannot actually rule this out) or she has a life hack.

Turns out it's the latter, and we've just discovered what it is.

According to a Vanity Fair article, which was originally published in 2015 but has resurfaced, the 36-year-old duchess keeps her feet comfortable using surprisingly affordable Alice Bow insoles.

Alice Bow, an Aussie based in London, started making her insoles because she couldn't find any that weren't ugly or ineffective to put in her collection of gorgeous shoes.

Alice Bow insoles are made of slim-but-effective padding topped with soft leather - and they come in a range of colours, so you can slip them unnoticed into any shoe.

They're also shaped so that they can be worn with open-toed shoes, but Kate probably doesn't put that feature to use very often. Open-toed footwear are considered informal and are not to be worn on official engagements.

Naturally, when news of Kate's love for the brand broke in 2015, the brand went global overnight.
