A schoolgirl touched Kate Middleton's hair and the duchess' reaction was perfect.

The Duchess of Cambridge made a new friend while out in Dundee, Scotland today and the photos are the sweetest thing we’ve seen, well, ever.

The Duke and Duchess, known as the Earl and Countess of Strathearn in Scotland, were in the Scottish city for their first official engagement of 2019 – opening the new V&A Dundee design museum.

While stopping to chat with people in the crowd after that engagement, the Duchess struck up a conversation with a young schoolgirl in a pink coat who got a lot closer to her than many others.

The girl reached out and began stroking her hair, which did not seem to phase the 37-year-old mum-of-three at all.

In fact, Kate reacted in the best possible way, laughing as she continued to chat with the young fan.
