KELLY MCCARREN: 'The $15 hack for instantly better brows.'

If you're a woman with brows, there's a good chance you spend time and money keeping those two furry lines well-groomed. After all, brows can completely change your entire face — for better or worse. That might involve spending a lot of money regularly getting them professionally plucked, trimmed and maybe even tinted to create the appearance of fuller, more voluminous brows. Plus, it means you can skip the eyebrow step in your everyday makeup routine.

But if you know anything about us, there's nothing we love more than a life-changing beauty buy that'll save us money — and boy, do we have one for you and your brows today.

Watch: Leigh Campbell and Kelly McCarren share tips on how to achieve lossy and glowy skin… without shimmery makeup products. Post continues below.

On a recent episode of You Beauty, hosts Kelly McCarren and Leigh Campbell shared their current beauty hacks, and there was one that really impressed us and our listeners.

As part of Kelly's last-minute pre-holiday beauty prep, she decided to DIY dye her brows before jetting off to Bali. She headed to the shops to purchase a pack of her trusty 1,000 Hour Eyelash & Brow Dye Kit (ICYMI, this is the OG product everyone swears by) but was soon left stumped after finding out they were all sold out.

Kelly quickly scanned the shelves for alternatives and, in a fleeting moment of improvisation, reached for… a men's product. Yes, you read that correctly.

Before she knew it, she was at home, applying the Just for Men Moustache & Beard Colour dye to her eyebrows.

"It's effectively exactly the same thing," Kelly explained, comparing it to the popular 1,000 Hour Eyelash & Brow Dye Kit. "You mix it in the same sort of little thing, you apply it for the same amount of time. It's the same thing."

And she's right.

"Dye doesn't know if it's men's hair or girls' hair," Leigh reiterated. "Hair is hair." Facts.

According to the product description, the "quick and easy brush-in gel works in five minutes" at eliminating greys for a thicker and fuller look — even on the coarsest of facial hair. The formula is also free from ammonia but packed with nourishing ingredients like biotin, aloe vera and coconut oil.

It comes in two shades — medium brown and dark brown — so if you're unsure of your shade, opt for the lighter one first, and you can always go darker from there.

Or, if you accidentally leave it on for a tad too long (like Kelly did) and end up looking "like John Howard for a day", don't panic.

"I just used an oil cleanser to sort of move along the process," Kelly explained.

Here's the product in all its glory. Yeah, it looks like you can't judge a product by its packaging.

The best bit? The men's kit will only set you back $15.45 (currently on sale for $13.99) and is available at leading retailers, including Chemist Warehouse, Woolworths, Coles and Priceline. That makes it just over $4 cheaper than the 1000 Hour product.

And if you have a male partner or live with someone who already has the Just For Men product on hand, well, I guess it's a free beauty product for you!
