Almost 20 years after her murder, JonBenét Ramsay's brother is speaking for the first time.

After almost 20 years in hiding, the older brother slain beauty queen JonBenét Ramsay is breaking his silence on the tragic unsolved murder that changed his life irrevocably.

Speaking exclusively to Dr Phil in a three-part series, Burke Ramsay was just nine years old when his sister was found dead in the family’s Colorado home.

"Has it ever occurred to you that your parents actually thought you did this and didn't ask you because they didn't want to know?" Dr Phil asks the now 29-year-old during a trailer for the upcoming interview.

"I know people think I did it; that my parents did it. I know that we were suspects," he replies.

Following the discovery of the six-year-old girl's body in the basement of their family home on Boxing Day in 1996, years of investigations, conspiracy theories and finger pointing - not least towards Burke - followed the family relentlessly.

Now, almost 20 years on from the anniversary of his sister's unsolved murder, Burke is finally telling his side of the story.

"The night that your sister JonBenet was killed, there were only three people in that house that we know the identity of. And you're the one that has never spoken," Dr Phil says, continuing, "My question for you is why now and why here?"

The interview comes following an announcement that CBS is set to release a new investigative documentary into the murder.

Burke's father John is also set to be interviewed during the series and has said it will be his last public interview of the topic of his daughter's murder.

Burke's mother, Patsy, passed away from ovarian cancer in recent years.
