Jesinta Franklin pregnant: Lance and Jesinta Franklin are having a baby.

AFL star Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin and his wife Jesinta Franklin are expecting their first child together.

The couple, who married in the Blue Mountains in 2016, shared the exciting news on Jesinta’s lifestyle app.

“My husband and I are so incredibly excited and overjoyed to announce that we have a baby on the way,” she wrote.

“The journey to get here hasn’t been easy and this little life is the greatest gift and we feel truly blessed and grateful that we have a little angel of our own,” she continued.

“We have both dreamt of this for a long time and whilst the last 2.5 years have been physically and emotionally challenging, there’s nothing we would change as it’s brought us to this beautiful moment.

“The immense love we already have for our baby is indescribable and we can’t wait to meet our little miracle.”

Earlier this year, the 28-year-old model and TV host told The Daily Telegraph that she had decided to “let the universe decide” when they would fall pregnant.

“We’re just leaving it up to the universe and whatever happens, happens,” Jesinta said at the time.

“There’s a lot in our life that has to be planned so I think the big moments in life happen when they’re meant to happen,” she added.

“There’s a reason for everything.”

In November 2016, the couple hosted an intimate wedding in the Blue Mountains at a private garden in Mount Wilson’s Wildenstein Gardens.

Speaking to Vogue after their wedding day, Jesinta shared that their “first dance” was the most memorable part of their day.

“I remember that [first dance] vividly. The song that played meant a lot to Bud and me and it felt like it was just us in the room. We didn’t have dance lessons; we literally just held each other and swayed,” she told the publication.

“Also, definitely, the moment we got married. We personalised the ceremony and an Indigenous elder sung his song. It was really moving and I’ll never forget that feeling. There was nothing contrived, it was all relaxed.”

The pair first announced their engagement in 2014, after dating for two years.
