CONGRATS! Jennifer Lawrence is engaged to her art gallerist boyfriend Cooke Maroney.

Our favourite pizza-loving, Oscar-winning, down-to-earth celeb, Jennifer Lawrence, is engaged to her New York art gallery director partner Cooke Maroney.

Boy is that a wedding we’d like to be invited to.

A rep for the 28-year-old Red Sparrow actress confirmed the whispers to People magazine on Tuesday, revealing the “fun-loving” gallery director had recently popped the question.

It comes after a reported “giant rock” was seen on her finger.

The two were seemingly out celebrating their engagement at a restaurant – Elio’s on New York’s Upper East Side, to be exact – when the ring was first spied by an onlooker.

We’re obviously thrilled for the couple and already can’t wait for the wedding pics, but we have one question that desperately needs answering.

…Just who is her fiance?

We are ashamed to admit we weren’t even fully aware she was dating someone, so they’ve done a good job of keeping their relationship out of the spotlight. In fact, there are barely any photos of them together, but this is what he looks like (he’s on the left):

Who is Cooke Maroney? 

Annoyingly so (for our stalking purposes), 34-year-old Maroney doesn't have a huge social media presence - with only a private Instagram page that's just shy of 2000 followers.

But the internet tells us the art gallerist grew up in Vermont, and spent a large chunk of his childhood living on a farm. Before the family opted for the country life, Maroney's father was an art dealer in Manhattan and previously served as the Head of American Paintings at Christie's. Fancy.

Following in his father's footsteps, Maroney is currently the director of New York City's Gladstone Gallery, which represents a host of high-profile artists including Lena Dunham's dad, Carroll Dunham, as well as Richard Prince, Anish Kapoor, and Bjork's ex, Matthew Barney.

How did Jennifer Lawrence meet Cooke Maroney? 

The couple met through Lawrence's best friend, Laura Simpson (yes, the one she took to the Oscars in 2014), and made things public(ish) in June last year.

Around this time, a source told Page Six they were keen to keep the relationship under wraps.

“They met through Jen’s friend Laura... The relationship has been going on a few weeks. But they have been very private and careful not to be seen together,” they said.

According to Us Weekly, Lawrence and Maroney were committed from the get-go. “Things between them are very serious,” a source told the outlet in January. “They definitely appear to be in it for the long haul.”

And our favourite tidbit of info about Lawrence's soon-to-be hubby?

Maroney is apparently part of New York's "arty party scene", which just sounds way too glamorous for us to handle.

“He’s definitely fun-loving but I wouldn’t say he’s out of control,” a source told The Cut. "He likes to have fun, a young good New York guy who likes to participate and have fun. When we would hang out, we would definitely drink, we would have fun."

Sounds like he likes to... have fun.
