Love Island might be luxurious, but the contestants are deprived of a simple comfort.

Now that he’s off Love Island, Jaxon Human can officially tell the time again.

In case you’re sitting there scratching your head, wondering what the hell we’re going on about, it turns out that Love Island is a time-free zone.

Mamamia caught up with the 24-year-old ousted contestant, who admitted all of the days kind of just roll into one while filming the show.

“We do not have clocks whatsoever,” he said. “I lost track of everything.”

Although Jaxon said he’s still “not too sure why” there is a complete absence of clocks, he wasn’t opposed to it.

“I think really it’s because we just want to live in the moment, and not think about what time is it and what’s going to be happening next,” he added.

Still, it wasn’t as if they were completely cut-off from reality.

Jaxon said they are all aware of the date, just not the actual time.

He said it made the island a little bit more laidback.

“We sort of just go to bed when we feel like going to bed,” he explained.

Having said that though, Jaxon admitted the first thing he did after being kicked off Love Island was ask what the time was.

“It was like, holy Jesus! I got out of the villa yesterday, and I was like, ‘What is the time?'” he said.

“It was so light, but it was like, 8.30pm. I was like, ‘Is this serious?'”

And with time slowly ticking by without their knowledge, Jaxon said returning to reality was a bit of a shock to the system.

“I lost three weeks of my life!” he joked.

Although he said they don’t really have any rules they need to follow while on the island, there is a shortage of one other thing – mobile phones.

But Jaxon said they weren’t completely devoid of any contact with the outside world.

“We did have a mobile phone where we needed to receive text messages, and we needed to take selfies and group photos,” he said.

No clocks and only one phone, with the incorrect time – we don’t know if we’re intrigued by the idea or horrified.
