Actress Jameela Jamil's body-positive Instagram proves you're worth more than your weight.

Model, actress, and radio presenter Jameela Jamil has always been a strong supporter of body positivity.

The Good Place actress took her activism to the next level in 2018, launching an Instagram account called “I Weigh”, which aims to prove that there are much more important things than your number on the scales.

The crowdsourced account invites Instagram users to submit pictures of themselves, sharing how they measure themselves in ways besides their weight.

The account’s inaugural post was one of Jameela herself, listing her “weight” as her accomplishments, her happy relationships, her career and her life experiences.

Jameela, 32, created the “I Weigh” account after seeing a meme that featured an image of the Kardashians and estimated their weights.

On her website she shared her disgust at the viral meme: “What kind of crazed toxic nonsense is this? What is this post trying to achieve other than to induce anxiety into young women about something so entirely irrelevant?”

“I snapped. I am just done. I’m so done with seeing this and letting it pass me by. It’s so dangerous and disgusting. It’s so belittling and abusive.”

Since launching the account a week ago, Jameela has shared over 300 submissions on the account from people of all ages across the world sharing how they “weigh” themselves.

The actress hopes the growing project will spread body positivity and allow people to see their true value.

“Please think of the things in your life that you are proud of, that fulfil you, that make you happy and write them down somewhere, and look at that list every time you feel that you are failing, or that your jeans are tight, or you have a chubby arm in a group photo of a night out, or when you watch a video of a Hadid eating pasta,” the model wrote.
