It’s a given that we think Jacinda Ardern – the Prime Minister of New Zealand and now a new mum – is a kick arse lady.
She’s the second world leader ever to give birth while in office and handled the slew of unnecessary questions that came with it flawlessly. However, even Ardern isn’t immune to a royal slip of the tongue.
Introducing her newborn daughter Neve Te Aroha Ardern Gayford (Neve Gayford for short) in her first press conference post-birth with partner Clark Gayford, the 37-year-old spoke of how “mind-blowing” it was to receive well-wishes from the British royal family, which is when she made a teeny-tiny error.
“It’s certainly mind-blowing receiving messages from people like the Duke of Duchess of Essex and the Queen,” she said.
