1. Jacinda Ardern just shared her daughter’s first birthday cake in the most relatable way.

It’s a coming-of-age milestone many parents view with varying levels of apprehension… the first birthday cake.

Non-bakers shudder at the thought, with others heading straight to their local bakery, however New Zealand Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, has nailed her creation for baby Neve Te Aroha Ardern Gayford.

Sharing her tactics hours before the big bake, Ardern posted a photo of a Women’s Weekly Kids Party Cakes cookbook, with a very relatable caption.

“Doing what so many parents have done before me. Waited till baby was in bed before trying to magic up a passable cake for the big first birthday. Wish me luck,” she wrote.

“PS To the many, many people who have wished our family well, sent knitted goods and passed on a piece of wisdom about parenthood over the past year – thank you. It truly takes a village (and someone in said village may get a call if I don’t sort this cake!)

Hours later, the celebrated world leader shared her coconut-covered creation and while it looked like something straight out of a Donna Hay magazine, Ardern joked that it didn’t come easily.

“I may be smiling but about an hour earlier I was not enjoying the first birthday cake making experience (like just about every parent I know!),” she wrote.

“I recommend cakes that you can legitimately cover in coconut – it hides almost everything. Happy Birthday wee Neve!”

And with that cake, we’re sure it’ll be a very happy birthday indeed.

2. It looks like Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner will be getting married (again) sooner than we think.

Following their May Las Vegas wedding, complete with an Elvis Presley impersonator, genetically-blessed couple Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are expected to say ‘I do’ once again, in a more lavish ceremony.

In November 2018, US Weekly reported that Jonas and Turner would be getting married in summer 2019 in France, after a wedding guest accidentally shared a snap of the invite.

So given the fact that it’s June and currently summer in France, the world is naturally on high alert for #Jophie wedding watch.

Either way, secondary nuptials or not, Jonas and Turner look madly in love while touring the city of love, with this cute couple photo being Exhibit A.

3. It turns out there were plans for Rami Malek’s Freddie Mercury to appear in Rocketman.

Um. It turns out Rami Malek was going to be in the Elton John biopic Rocketman alongside Taron Egerton as Freddie Mercury, but it devastatingly didn't happen.

“It was such a shame!” Malek told news.com.au.

“I would have loved to do it. Taron and I talked about it, we had multiple discussions with Dexter [the director of both films], and we really tried to make it happen.”

Unfortunately, it all boiled down to the politics of it all.

“I don’t think there was a chance in hell that (20th Century) Fox would have let me do it,” says Malek.

Dang it.

4. Um. Nicki Minaj just called Miley Cryus a "perdue chicken" and wait, what?

On the latest episode of Nicki Minaj's Apple Music Beats 1 show Queen Radio, the 26-year-old appears to be throwing shade at Miley Cyrus.

While she doesn't explicitly say her name, everyone is... filling in the blanks.

5. Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna are feuding again. Here's a complete history of their relationship.

In case you missed it, Rob Kardashian is embroiled in another public feud with his ex-fiancee and the mother of his child, American model and entrepreneur Blac Chyna.

This time, the co-parents are in disagreement over their two-year-old daughter, Dream Kardashian, appearing on Chyna’s new reality television show The Real Blac Chyna.

The docu-series dives deep into the life of the 31-year-old (who is also known as Angela White) following her split from the youngest Kardashian. And Rob Kardashian doesn’t want anything to do with it.

It’s just one more public feud to add to their roller-coaster relationship timeline.
